Morons,

Is it that hard to see if you master bounty pistol and master the pistoleer skill tree, You can do it with points left over, You have the Most powerful and fastest weapon in the game no madder if ya use a cdef pistol. No other weapon in the game could touch it.

The same could be said for carbine then. BH Carbine specialist plus master Carbine is the best Carbine user, but SOMETHING is steering many more folks towards Pistols than Carbines.

And I think the reasons are pretty obvious. Most of the players in the game are not Pistoleers first and foremost. They're medics, crafters, entertainers, etc... They want a little offense on the side. Are they going to pick up a tank profession? No... they just want to hang back and participate a bit. They don't want to be strategic sniper types geared towards PVP, so they're not riflemen. And what the heck is a carbine !? Isn't that those old things with a flint-lock on it from the civil war? What about Pistol? Ahh, pistols, laser pistols, blaster pistols, yeah - that sounds cool. So there you go.

If instead of Pistoleer vs Carbineer it was Laser Pistols vs Blaster Pistols or Light Pistols vs Heavy Pistols, I bet it would be a totally different story.

Actually, carbines were used during WWII. Its a handheld machinegun. Less accuracy and dmg than a manually loaded rifle but it sprayed bullets out at a high rate of fire.

'carbines' are really just shortened rifles. So old-timey cavalry would carry them. WWII had some carbines in service (the most common being the M1), but the Mauser 98K of the germans was technically a carbine (but still very long). neither of these weapons are automatic fire.

Modern day, you get weapons like the M4, which is a carbine, and shortened version of the M16 rifle, but otherwise similar, and capable of automatic fire.

Then, if you have a weapon that's capable of automatic fire, but shoots pistol caliber bullets, it's a submachine gun.

Another reason medic types use a pistol is they can heal faster as your healing time is based off the weapon you have equiped.

So if you have a rifle that is speed 7 a carbine speed 4 and pistol speed 2 which one is going to let you get your heal off first?

Yep the pistol.

Oh and your hand is rated at like a 4 speed. So it doesn't even make sense to not have a fast pistol equiped even if you can't use it.

And lets not forget smugglers we need pistol exp to increase 2 trees in our skill set that means most of us put some into pistoleer just to make our dirty fighting skills viable since we dont get any weapons mods.

Yet our mods are mostly broekn... so it doesnt matter =)
