How is this special? Is it as good as what it is described as in the skill tree?

Its pretty good damage wise. Its damage kick is higher than Fan Shot, but Fan shot can get in more blasts per second with its shorter delay, thus is more effective overall. But Stopping shot still is pretty nice to use

It was pretty good at "killing or incapacitating someone in one hit" before the 25% PvP change, now it takes 6-8 (depends on how lucky you get with pools). As was said, you're better off with fan shot unless there's an almost dead person running around and you want to make sure you kill him.

I agree, I use Fan much more then Stopping. I hit Fan up to 1K with 700 being normal. Course that is on no-resist mobs. In PvP I still do 400 to 500 easy with Fan.

How does body shot 3 compare to stopping and fan?

I know currently it's not, but shouldn't stoping shot be a healthpool shot? Like BS3. Or will BS3 do the damage healthshot does once it's fixed?

Or will BS3 do the same damage stoping shot does once it's fixed?

No, the most powerful attack we have will never be a targeted pool attack. Doesn't seem balanced. You have to choose 1) massive damage but toa random pool (though 50% of the time it will be Health) or 2) mediocre damage to a specific pool. Fair tradeoff to me.

The only problem is that BS3 is doing worse DPS so it needs either a delay reduction or a dmg increase, but not to put it up to Stopping Shot levels.

lol, it sure USE to one shot stop people...but with PvP reduction it's no longer the case. Descriptions of the specials are mostly for entertainment. You can check out our FAQ sticky for slightly more descriptive info. Random HAM shots are useful in many situations. Fan shot for most players will be superior to stopping shot, which is fitting since it's a tier up. Not always, but for most players/situations, that's the case.
