Thread: Need some opinions on this template please...
Sorry about the double post. I accidently hit enter and couldn't figure out how to delete it. Anyway my original plan was to go this route:
Master CH
Master Pistoleer
0 4 0 4 Marksmen (Ranged defense bonuses)
4 0 4 1 Scout (Survive 1 for basic camp to call pets)
2 0 4 0 Medic (Stim C's and First Aid)
After doing alot of playing and reading on these boards I've come up with this idea:
Master CH
0 4 4 3 Pistoleer (Speed and Accuracy lines with Pistoleer specials)
0 0 4 0 Smuggler (Last Ditch and Low Blow)
0 4 0 0 Marksmen (Pre-req)
4 0 4 0 Scout (Pre-req)
2 0 0 0 Medic (First Aid and Stim B's)
4 0 0 0 Brawler (Pre-req)

You can make camps without survival 1
You can use stimp d's with pharm 4 (40 med use 750 base heal+)
I wouldn't waste the points on Master CH. You can get 95% of the benefits of CH by going 4-4-0-0 and just having a Master train your pets. Even 3-3-0-0 is probably good enough.
I don't think you need Pharm 4 to use Stim Cs. Isn't Pharm 3 good enough?
Don't bother with the third line of Pistoleer. Last Ditch is better than anything in that line. Frankly I wouldn't bother with Pistoleer at all and instead get BH Pistol if possible. But if you're committed to Master CH and Smuggler still there is no reason to get the Pistoleer random HAM stuff when you have Last Ditch. The accuracy and speed lines are okay, I guess, although I think you can get more bang for your buck in other professions.
The defenses don't work and aren't worth the skill points. Don't bother.
You can use Stim Cs at Pharm 3 if they are experimented for med use, right?
If you're going up the DF tree in smuggler, no point in getting the 3rd tree in Pistoleer unless you plan on getting Master Pistoleer.Especially since the posture defenses are turned off atm. Plus it'll save you around 1mil Pistol XP.
The DF line has more usefull moves than the Pistoleer line. We get a ranged KD, a 6x damage shot (doing 3500 damage on a SB after KD is nice)., and feign death (useful in PvE). Panic Shot is our AoE move, but broken atm. We benefit greatly from Pistoleer's Speed and Accuracy line.

I think your first template is better than your second. Having worked the smuggler line I soon realized I was using too much in terms of prereqs for the (now) limited benefit. Trust me after having surrendered the skills it is just not worth it. As a master pistoleer your speed at that level will be very nice for just about all moves. As for shots I would say I like body shot 3, but at master the speed is not much of a factor as it was at lower levels. I would also be willing to say you don't need all of the markman line as I could see alot more value healing yourself, pet, and friends with extra medical skill gained from dropping the last line. I guess in the end it is really up to you and what makes you happy. I would recommend to take all of our advice with a grain of salt and just try it out. Over time you will figure out what you like and work it out.
