Thread: What do you use for Armored MOBS

I was attacking some light armored mobs and my pistol was not doing much damage.

I see that DX2 and sr combat have AP1. which is better.

Does anyone see the need in having an assortment of pistols for the different MOBs to counteract the various resistances, or it is just better to have 2 different ones that you switch out if they have resistance to a specific type?

The DX2 is usually better than the SR Combat because the SR has a maximum range of 48m. Plus it does acid damage instead of energy. However the DX2's armor piercing often doesn't work right and it is inaccurate at long ranges. So just take a look at the stats and make a choice from there.

I always carry a DX2 (in my case a Scatter, but the same idea albeit much better), Scout, FWG5, and Tangle Pistol around and switch between those.

It's best to go ahead and get:

energy (like a scout blaster, for instance)

acid (DX2)

Heat (FWG5)

Stun (Tangle)

And maybe even a kinetic (strike) just for grins.

Anyway, most mobs will be vulnerable to one of the above, and that is the weapon type you should use. AR really doesnt mean anything unless they have no vulnerabilities. Then AR will reduce the Acid resist value they have if you use a DX2, for example. 95% of the time, you just stick to a gun they are vulnerable to and you'll do fine.
