Pistoleer Archive

I'm having a hard time getting any pistol experience doing solo missions. I'm a Master Smuggler, Master Marksman, Grenadier, and getting closer to Master Pistoleer. I need only5 more pistol skills to hit Master Pistoleer, but I'm not getting crap for experience on the missions I get. I get level 25 missions with my Flame Thrower equipped and level 24 (im pretty sure) with my pistol equipped. The same mob that give 2k experience when killed with a Launcher or Flame Thrower only gives about 900 experience when killed with a pistol. I realize I have many more skills in the pistol skills but for roughly the same difficulty missions, it doesn't make sense. I can take out most mobs with 1 or 2 hits with a Flame Thrower special yet it's considerably harder to kill anything with a pistol, and if I do the experience sucks. How is this fair anyway? I have 4 skills in Commando and 11 skills (+4 smuggler pistol skills) in pistoleer and I die half the time trying to complete a mission using my 'primary' weapon... the same mission that takes a few minutes to run to, fire a few cone flames, then run back with my Commando weapon.

Anyway, aside from these classes lacking any kind of balance, my main concern is the experience. Anyone have any suggestions on where I can get experience solo that won't end up in my trading my life for one mob? I can take a mission, run to it and kill a mob while the other 4 blast away on me and kill me. Sure, I got 2k experience but... not worth it. Maybe there are high level mobs that lack any kind of speed or range attack (like the squalls... which give me no exp really anymore)... So yeah, that's my question. I have 5 levels to go and i'm getting 200-600 exp on mobs I consider 'safe' to attack in groups. I need suggestions so I don't dump all my pistol exp and just put my points into commando or something.

well im not sure of any specific creatures you can kill to get xp fast. i did it by being a creature handler and just blasting away at things while pets blocked for me.

you can try getting a really good pet cowardly gurreck is good non ch pet. send in pet first then when its engaged with the target you attack. i almost never get attacked doing this.

if your good enough with the pistol you will get alot of xp and keep pet alive as well. i tried harder planets but for easier stuff and still good xp talus visious huf duns and tortors are good xp. but i prefered yavin4 giant crystal snakes awesom xp.
