Thread: Course change?

Well, I've been reading for some time the controversy around pistoleer and bh pistol, and I can't say I have it completely straight in my head. Mainly, it's been a bit too technical for a guy who does that all day and just wants to relax in SWG. But I have gotten the sense that there is a lot to say for the BH pistol line. I'm thinking perhaps I should climb it, but on the other hand, I'm not real pessimistic, or cynical, and believe that the devs might make it right for pistoleers. What do you think?

Here's my position: Pistoleer 0041, with enough combat xp for 0042. I've heard the advice to climb the stances line completely, for speed. Sounds good. However, since I do have 85000+ combat xp, and 350000+ pistol xp, I could fairly easily start the climb up to BH. I've already got two branches of scout filled (for CH), and two branches of marksman filled.Saving the combat xpto get novice BH would save a LOT of time after I climb the remaining easy branches of marksman and scout. Opinions?

Thanks,

Head for BH pistol, if you have the skill points to do so. The Pistoleer stuff is a waste of skill points in comparison. Save 40,000 combat xp for Novice Bounty Hunter and then use whatever remains for the Pistol Stances line. If you run out of skill points, surrender the Pistoleer skills you have now to get speed instead.

Hehe, thanks Philosopher. I take that as a vote of no confidence for the devs. You don't believe a master pistoleer will EVER be better with a pistol than a BH pistol IV?

Get BH Pistol 4. It is not like its that hard toget your xp back to do other stuff if and when they make fixes to warrant changing around.

I'll say it again (even though its like a broken record)

  1. Scatter Pistol cert alone is worth the BH boxes

  2. Eyeshot is better than any pistoleer or marksman move in PvP

  3. Torsoshot is better than any pistoleer or marksman move in PvE

  4. Bounty Pistol Speed + Pistoleer Stances II allows you to do a Stopping Shot every second with **edit** near any gun in the game. This is great for the times you want pure random ham dps and you are not in a I-need-to-kill-this-right-now type of situation (where you would use Torsoshot in pve orEyeshot in pvp).

  5. Novice Bounty Hunter certification in LLC is more HAM-free dps than any pistol firing every second for the lazy moments.

What are ya waiting for?

I should have also mentioned that pve is the only thing I'm interested in, and that I'm having a lot of fun with CH (3212). I need to take a good look at the points available to do this, they may not be there.

Lol, ok, nevermind. I'm having way too much fun with CH to stop training there, much less give any up. There is no way I can climb any of the BH tree, and get to pistol 0044, while keeping CH. Since pve is my emphasis, I'm fine with this. Many thanks for your suggestions.

Agreed. Take the BH pistol 4 -- you won't regret it. And, the 0041 pistoleer template is what I kept and I'm very happy with it. 115 Accuracy, 91 speed and a 1 second Stopping shot that reliably pumps out 1200 points of damage with the outstanding Scatter Pistol.
