When you shoot someone with a state effect and they resist, they see a message. As the defender though, I don't believe you ever see a message that you resisted anything (except for dodge) so how would you know unless the shooter told you?

It's true, the resists are good. I've dodged eyeshot - once. MG here btw.

oh, lately too I have noticed getting message that creatures/npc's have resisted things. If you try a KD within 30 seconds of the last one you'll get a message but I've also got a resist message the first time trying a KD etc on a creature/npc. That doesn't mean ours are working correctly though.

They are slowly being tweaked, as the devs said they would be...

I can tell you now I have a much harder time blinding a master gunfighter now then I did a month ago...

They do work, I wish a "resists" message could be put in so we could se how often they do actually work tho =/

Not sure, I get slapped with dizzy all the time in PvP and I'm a master so I don't think it works effectively.

We get no "update" when a state defence works so there is really no way to tell right now how it's working.

I was a master pistoleer and then gave it up. I can tell you that the resists DO work. You will notice that you don't get dizzy/knockdowned as often if you have the resists. Since I don't have them now, I could tell the difference.

Dodge on the other hand is rather useless.

Defenses don't work right now, as far as I can tell.

Even if they did, there is a fundamental problem with the way that state defenses are implemented, as Jaegen has pointed out in his communications to the Devs. Even if state defenses worked, they supposedly give you a lesser chance of being stunned/dizzyed/knocked down. But since the dizzy/knockdown/blind move is being spammed, it doesn't matter if you have a 20% chance of not getting blinded from a particular shot because once one of the shots hit, you're blinded for a long time.

So even if these state defenses are someday "fixed," they won't be worth much until the Devs change the way that they work.

just spend some of your remaining skill points in the defence lines of TKA - hell why not just Master TKA the benefits make it a must.

Ossoi, I agree with your suggestion, but live in fear that the devs will just rule that defenses only work from the weapon in hand.

My original template had TKA 0304, for the defense, but I've since replaced it with Creature Handler, since I can see how that helps me directly today...but I made sure to grind enough unarmed to get TK novice back if things change significantly.

Great suggestion, tho.
