Thread: Pistols or Carbines, which to choose after Master Marksman -> your thoughts please!

I am hitting master marksman in the next couple days and would like to know what I should go for, Pistols or Carbines. By the sounds of it Carbineers are more broken but the potentialfor mounted combat sounds better.


Ifpistol which weapon has the best bang for the buck? Speed with damage. Thanks guys!

I'm not a carbineer but they're pretty broken from what I hear. I think they have a number of attacks that are state change and posture change. Posture changes are on a 30 second timer so they aren't very effective.


I'm not too impressed with pistoleer yet. However, I'm not a master pistoleer either. The attacks that I do have aren't very effective for me ( could be the attacks or it could be the user ).


The two attacks are stopping shot and fanshot that I use most often.


Fan shotwas recently changed to anArea Effect shot. You'll hit more than one target when you use it. So you'll aggro animals other than the one you are attacking in PvE. This isn't all negative though. You can also use fanshot to hit multiple creatures that are pursuing you.


Stopping shot is just a little too slow, in my opinion, to use when you aren't a master pistoleer. With the speed bonuses of master pistoleer it may be a little more benefitial.


BodyShot3 is another pistoleer attack that is pretty popular. I don't have this attack yet so i can't offer any feedback on this one.


Pistoleer alsodoes nothave state change attacks which are proving to be very nice attacks. Carbineers have a KD and a dizzy so you can virtually knock an opponent down and he won't be able to get up.


Pistoleer also doesn't have any KD attacks.
