Thread: Question for Master Pistoleers without BH Pistol
I'm a master doc and I was just wondering whether or not I should go for master pistoleer or master carbineer. I like carbines because they hit harder and the specials are nice for PvE, but they're crap in PvP. However Pistoleers are the opposite, good for PvP but i cant kill much by myself in PvE (I'm currently 0/0/4/0 in pistoleer so I have all the specials worth having). My other question is this: 1. How fast can a Master Pistoleer spawn Stopping Shot (it's slow as hell with my current skills). 2. Whats the time modifier for stopping shot is it 2.5x or 5x? And finally what does the time modifier do...is that multiplied against the speed of the gun minus your pistol speed skill, or how does that work?

It's the other way around. Carbines ROCK PvP.
But you'll only notice some real power at master lvl btw.
With Pistoleer 0,0,4,4 and Bounty Hunter 0,0,4,0 you'll have 109 pistol speed. Master Pistoleer is currentlya waste of points.
Throw in Creature Handler 2,2,0,0, you can get 30th lvl pets to tank for you in PVE and still have enough for novice medic. This is what I have.
PVP;
Pistol whip 1 + stopping shot, I can kill the target in seconds. Usually I can get off 5-6 stopping shots before they can stand up, and you do more damage while they're laid out.
You will never see stopping shot at the 1 sec cap with just master pistoleer. My 1.6 fwg "stops" every 2 sec and I'm a master.
Master doc is an awesome combo with any elite combat proff. Carbines are snazzy, status change attacks, varied specials, how you do what you do can make or break you as a carb man. Pistoleer is a 1 trick pony, stack bleeds and chop at health bar, no real finesse or variety of attacks. This could all change if we get some changes, but as things stand now I would recomend carbine. Just be prepared to spend some time figgerin out how to best use the specials to your adv.
A Master Pistoleer (with no other skills) cannot fire Stopping Shot at the cap without a sub 1.0s pistol.
The delay on Stopping Shot is 4X; a Master Pistoleer'suncapped rateis 0.26, and 4 * 0.26 is 1.04, which is not capped even with a 1.0s pistol.
My best pistols are two krayt FWG5's (one sliced for speed and other for damage) and a krayt DX2. Against an unarmored target, my damaged sliced FWG5 shooting fanshot or bodyshot3 is the best. Against an armored target, my DX2 shooting fanshot or bodyshot3 is the best.
And yes, stoppingshot can only be spammed at the speed cap for a master pistoleer (without master marksman) if the pistol is faster than 1.0speed. My speed sliced FWG5 is 0.9speed, but spamming SS with this pistol is just a bit worse than spamming Fanshot with my damage sliced FWG5.
