Thread: Increased defense modifiers on Test?
I logged into the test server for the first time earlier tonight to see what it was like. My primary interest was player cities, but as I was browsing through the skill trees of various professions, I noticed that a lot of our skill boxes had their defense modifiers doubled.
A master pistoleer on test has double the defense modifiers of a master on live. Dodge was something like +90. All the state defenses (knockdown, etc.) and melee defense was doubled as well.
I haven't heard a thing about this anywhere, so I was curious to see if anyone did hear anything official from the developers about this change. It seems that carbine and rifleman got defensive boosts as well. BH still doesn't have any defense modifiers.
Although our dodge in it's current state is basically useless, if it's +90 or so, could that be enough to make a difference? I'm not exactly sure what melee defense does either.
1) they are just messin with the numbers to see when these thing actually start to be effective and these numbers will never see the live servers
2) Instaed of fixing the "roll" to dodge etc, they are just bulking up the modifier to compensate.
I would lean towards the latter as it is heavy handed and prolly overkill, just like most of SOE's fixes, but who knows, maybe they learned something.
