Does the damage type of PMD1/2 depend on the weapon you have equiped or is it kinetic damage regardless.

It depends on the type of the weapon. Damage type is never kinetic (unless you use a striker).

Also, chance to hit depends on ranged weapon skill, not melee skill.

it seams to me that hitting someone would be kinetic regardless because you aren't shooting the gun but i also thought it might be because of what is equiped
