Thread: The Riflemen Still Want to Kite Us
Can we stop the flames and move onto somthing constructive please? Once we get each others ideal balance we canfind a compramiseand then provide somthing to the dev team on a united front. If we do that i think everybody will win and i would bet it would be done...
Stargoo just want to say good job on getting us started. Ithink your idea is simplistic but absolutly right. =)

I agree with Boborina 100% ... that's a good suggestion and my guess is that most Riflemen would agree too, because it makes a lot of sense.
Raloorn, well we agree then. What's fair is fair, though. If we can't fire over 35m you can't fire under 35m. I think the better way of balancing things is by increasing rifle damage, accuracy, etc.
ok then let me pose an idea
What if you put the Range Cap in 35m for pistol 50m for carbineer and 64m for Rifleman.
But Make rifleman either Horribly innaccurate on the run 90% miss chance OR that he cant fire at all.
the rifleman would get the message "You cannot fire this weapon while running"
So that would solve your kiting issue.

like i said if its just for 64m then give us our speed back or no deal.
Many rifleman want to have supremacy at long range but ill take balance where ever i can take it. So if we get an larger optimum range that matchs the pistoliers i would be happy as long as we also get lowerHAM costs to make up for our loss of DPS from the speed cap.
Right, Bobo, I was responding to the other guy's idea of range caps + not being able to fire rifle while moving.
I think you're on the right track. I just wish you were Rifle Correspondent!!! Maybe other people in your forum feel the same way.

I'm not saying that I would like the 35m cap, putting aside Carbineers out of the equation because at 50m _they_ could kite us. I imagine a lot of Riflemen would hate not being able to fire when moving either. But if we were the only two classes in the game that would be balanced in PvP on that issue.

Part of the problem with non homoginized accuracy is that at long ranges rifleman can somewhat kite, the other side of the story is that if pistols get close if we have no way to get back into our optimum range and we become the kited... Its an ugly situation on both sides.
What i suggest is increase the penalty torunning and gunningto ALLclasses, so this becomes a global nerf and not on jsut to one class...I think SOE has said that they want us to do less running and gunning anyways and i think it would work.

yeah i thought i read that too ... where depending on what weapon you are holding determines your run speed)
So next addition to the rifleman (since you pistoleers are saying Add things to your class) .. How about a block from radar for riflemen
Raloorn ... well maybe if it was only in /takecover mode, had a chance to be revealed when fired, and there wasa decentdelay in getting out of /cover so this way the rifleman had a weakness if he was doing that, it might be worth submitting to the Devs. Flush out the idea and submit it.
I'm not saying I support it -- I have to think it through -- but it is at least plausible and fits with the riflemen tree.
