Thread: Pistoleer's please comment on upcoming requests
1) either change multitargetpistolshot to something better, give us back the old fanshot, or make it shoot only things that are "currently" agro on you or the group. i.e. no lair hits, no creature from ANOTHER lair hits (aggressive or not), etc...
2) fix pistolmeleedefense2
3) fix bleeds (let us at least hit an artery or something)
4) fix bodyshot3
5) cut HAM cost and speed up stoppingshot
How many times have we told them the same things are broken? And all they've done so far is to change Fan Shot after we asked them not to?
Anyway... for this time around:
Great list Jaegen. I agree across the board.
I would like to add to the DX2 requests though: Add a Feed Mechanism to it (like the Scatter and Launcher have) so that it can be enhanced used high velocity feed mechanism drops from Nyms.

Jaegen,
to my recolection, the weaponsmith's bug for stacking power handler's are still not fixed. The stacking power handler's are suppose to increase the quality/damage of the weapon because their suppose to add up,
Sorry, but there's NO WAY that multiple BPH's are supposed to have their stats add up when making a weapon. If they did, the T-21 would do approximately 14 million damage. Multiple BPH's (like multiple armor segments in armor , or multiple wall segments in buildings) are just a common way to increase the cost of an item.
Here's an idea for PMD2: Dizzy. Not KD+Dizzy (as that is a pretty uber-powerful combo), but just plain dizzy. Sure, you can stack PMD1 and 2 right after each other, but it does make it a little harder to land the combo.
Another alternative would be throwing the opponent back 32m ![]()
I don't post often on this forum but since I have been getting more into pvp I have focused into my pistoleer branch lately... I'l post what I think needs to be done...
The AoE issue definitely has to be fixed. I myself have not been able to experience it yet... may hit Fanshot tonight though...
1 At the moment the disarming shot line is a highly useless skill... either scrap it and replace it with something worthwhile or fix it... I think it should actually damage the players weapon but leave the player unhurt... or maybe make the players weapon lose effectiveness like a random decrease in range/damage/HAM cost etc... thiswould work on human NPC's obviously not creatures though.... not sure if this doable either...imagine if you use it and the person your fighting all the sudden has to use double the HAM cost for special moves... would be killer to riflers and carbineers... would'nt make them invulnerable as they can still shoot but would make it so they would have to either switch to another weapon or take the risk of using the "damaged" weapon. Of course this effect only lasts for 30 seconds or something... maybe less. Anyone think this is a good idea?
2. Haven't even started on this line as I feel if what I hear is true and BS2 is better then BS3 then why waste skill points on something i won't use... leave it till last. I'm sure this is everyones mentality and is exactly why it needs to be fixed. Its also rediculous that as a pistoleer we only get 1 targeted pool special in the pistoleer tree... though I'm not sure if rifle or carbineer get more then that either...
3. Honestly I like Stopping shot more then double tap.. but thats just me. I always seem to be able to do more damage with stopping shot then with duouble tap... but if tests show otherwise then maybe its just me. I don't test anything... I just go by the numbers I see... delay would make stopping shot less effective in some circumstances.
The DX2... the only issue I have with it is a general AP vs AR issue. I have noticed that if the target has protection against acid then there the AR1 works... however if they are vulnerable to acid... which alot is.. then it acts like a AP0 weapon... also I would like to see the damage increased on this weapon... I like the idea of making it a master level weapon... but I think all combat classes need a master level weapon to make master worth getting... thats my opinion though. Lastly I would like it if we could have a few state causing attacks... everyone else has one... but we don't... why?
Good luck with the devs... hope they respond to you.
Stopping Shot should have it's Speed raised to make it better than Double Tap
Pistol Melee Defense 2 should be an upgrade from Pistol Melee Defense 1 in that it not only knocks the target down, but dizzies them as well
Point blank Area 2 needs fixed.
Disarming Shot 1 should either actually Disarm the oponent, or Have a chance to stun. Disarming Shot 2, being a Master skill should be an AOE attack that has a higher chance to Disarm/Stun and does so for a longer ammount of time
Multi Person Target Shot, a Master pistol skillshould be AoE (not cone) and should deal good damage to all of the target's HAM bars at once.
Body Shot 3 needs to be boosted to have a better DPS than Body Shot 2.
Well those are my thoughts on Pistoleer ![]()

you know.. look at this from another perspective and realize that BH's with launcher get exploration and get to harvest corpses for meat hide or bones. as well as make tents and heal themselves or call pets etc..
yes it takes more skill points but they also have more flexibility.
I have taken a more defined route and chose to be pistoleer and doctor.. i can only master one.. I once was a BH so i have given up the ability to climb mountians really fast therefore traveling across planets is tough i cant camp so if i lose my pet its gone till i get back to town.
So from the point of view we are more limited we should actually be better in the skill and have more choices in weapons and do more damage than a BH whos skills are spead out over many areas.

2. Increase Body Shot 3 to 3.0x damage (still leave it WORSE than torso shot/eyeshot, but makes it better than body shot 2)
Honestly why should it be weaker? I mean why is a BH better at a pistol than a pistoleer? Why is Last Ditch better than stopping shot?
Honestly, about certs, I'd like to see a "All pistol cert" at master pistoleer. It's just a pipe dream probably. I just think a master pistoleer would know how to use a pistol. Since it is at the master level, it would take a good investment in your skill points. A launcher should be changed to be Heavy weapon. It gives HW xp, and a few pistol xp (only like 4-5 out of 1000's of HW. I tried when certs were off heh) anyway, and might be over powered. It just makes sense that pistol masters would be able to use pistols.

It's sad that master pistoleer have to invest heavy skill points and either smuggler or bh since our specials are so weak in pvp.
It's sad that master smugglers have to invest heavy skill points in pistoleer because our pistol mods are non-existant. Yes it is two sides of a coin. Just about EVERY smuggler is forced into pistoleer so we can gather our 1.9 million pistol xp. We get it so we can use the weapon of our class. That isn't fair either.
This is not asking for a nerf!!! It's just a question!!
How can a BH make an "EYE SHOT"with a SCATTER Pistol??
You would think he/she would hit everything but!!
Shouldn't some weapons be more suited to certain specials than others?
Which brings me to my point! Could the Devs not makePistoleer Specials require a Pistoleer certified weapon to use them and not work on other Professions Specials (vica versa) ?? Just a thought!
Here's an analogy:
Bob spend $50,000 on a car
Albert spends $75,000 on a car, a boat, and an RV.
So because Albert spends more than Bob he should have a better car?
Pistoleers should be the undisputed champions of the pistol. We can't FD, we can't use the absolutely absurd LLC, we can't make spice, we can't track, we have no terrain negotiation, mask scent etc...........
We use pistols. and that's All the pistoleer class lets us do. A BH will be a better all around combatant because of their diversity, and they should be. But there's no way they should be better than a pistoleer with a pistol.
The only other thing I would add is it seems silly to me that my BH friend fires his LLC almost as fast as I can fire my speed sliced scout pistol- especially considering the fact that he's doing at least double damge (or alot more.. like 3 1/2 times more) per hit........
I know they're talking about the adjusting the way speed works in the game but it can't hurt to remind them. =)
I wish we'd get a ranged knock down. Or stun, dizzy or anything. There are no status affect shots at all in pistoleer.

to my recolection, the weaponsmith's bug for stacking power handler's are still not fixed. The stacking power handler's are suppose to increase the quality/damage of the weapon because their suppose to add up, however, as it is now they are not adding up so it's being counted against the weapon (or actually only having one counted intead of all 5) so the quality/damage is poor.
Actually that was all speculation. It doesn't even make sense that the powerhandler speed/damage bonuses would stack. If they were designed to you would see 3-4 second (non-krayt) T-21s and roughly 1.0 second (again non-krayt) DX2s. Sorry, no bug there.
The reason that the FWG5/Launcher/Scatter can be crafted with much higher damagethan the DX2is that the former allincorporate projectile weapon components. Not only are the advanced projectile components a nice improvement over the regular ones, these pistols can all be crafted with multiple enhancers (I.E. Krayt Tissue in the powerhandler and High Velocity Feed Enhancer in the proj. feed mech.).
Just gotta say, in PvE the new Fan Shot ROCKS!! Especially against those annoying bolmas on Dathomir (stupid swarming dewback wannabes, stand your ground you cowards!). I've noticed that the cone attack does damage all of them, just that the "floaty numbers" don't pop up. But I retargeted on some of them last night and it showed damage, so I think it's working correctly.
My only issue as a pistoleer dabbler (0043--are you dabbling if you have almost half of the profession?) is the DX2 like everyone else says. If you can somehow get it to be krayt-enhanced, or at least up the damage a bit more, I'd be much more happy. As it stands right now, I'm using my FWG5 against even light-armored foes. Why? Cuz my FWG5's max damage is almost 2x what my DX2's is (and it IS more than 2x with a powerup). Even with the light-armor-vs-no-AP reduction, it still does more damage to non-heat-resistant foes.
That and I like seeing 2-4 1000+fanshots pop up in my combat window, but that's just me. My friends are complaining about "combat window spam"...I just smile smugly ![]()

Then what's our next priority. I have written down that DX2 fixing is. Here's the push back I get on that issue (from players, not from devs)
DX2 Certificate cost: 35 skill points
Launcher Pistol Certificate cost:112 points
Scatter Pistol Certificate cost: 160 skill points
Why would the DX2 need to be "as good" as the scatter? I 100% agree that pistoleers not having the best pistols as a niche, sucks horribly, makes no sense, and is endless frustration for many. However, we need to figure out how to position this. Maybe a certificate at mastery is the only solution. At least that's 92 vs 112 vs 160, at least that has more justification, coupled with the time it takes to hit mastery as well (time isnt a big factor though..keep that in mind).""
Is it only the scatter cert a bounty gets for this amount of skillpoints ...... i dont think so .
Terrain negotiation, harvesting, buildung camps , using all weapons and styles from all marksman lines, beeing able to attack all ham bars directly ...... and last but not least these'requirements' offers u a large amount of eliteskills if wanted .
It is not that the scatter cert ,its the BH profession which needs that much SP not the certification .The certification is a benefit and nothing more ......... in my opinion.
Or is a pisoleer able to use one of these other things which comes along these 160 Skillpoints ?
No he isn't .... so comparing them is nonsense.
