nerfing fanshot?!?


they just actually made it pretty useful and now they are taking it away again? w-t-f


Do they plan to make any new changes to it? Or are they just reverting it back to the old fanshot. Doesnt make much sense...it doess less damage than stopping shot and is a tier higher. it may be faster, but any master pistoleer doesnt worry too much about speed.


are they going to fix multitarget shot and make it do what fanshot is doing now?

5) FAN SHOT NERF: In case you haven't heard, FanShot has been nerfed -- the AOE attack has been removed on Test Center. I'll test this as soon as I have access.






If they refuse to leave the current FanShot at least try to get something useful made out of Multi Target Pistol Shot.

Thanks Philospher1976 for being our voice. When Jeagan stepped down I was worried about what would become of our profession, but I feel that we're in very good, and very capable hands with you.


As far as fanshot goes, I don't mind them taking the cone effect away from it if they'd do something with Multi-Target Pistol Shot to make it worth mastering Pistoleer for. Let's also not forget Point Blank Area 2 and how it only hits one target. If they change fanshot, I'd like one of our attacks fixed to replace it in some form.

You're right about that! It was "I keep drawing agro with Fanshot!!!! Change it back!!!" Hah. What is it about this game? The human race generally continues to make progress while this game does nothing but regress? Does that mean the Devs truly are poo-flinging monkeys hammering away at a thousand keyboards?

I think the misinformed/slow-thinking population of Pistoleers started realizing how useful an area attack was.

Thanks for the update, Philosopher1976. I start to feel optimistic when I hear about the correspondent forum getting debate/discussion. I hope it goes well.


I'll try not to bristle at the misinformed/slow-thinking comment. I was annoyed at the fan shot change when we first noticed it. I was annoyed for a couple of reasons. 1. We were not told about it in the patch notes. 2. Fan Shot was not one of the shots we had listed as a priority to fix. 3. It seemed to be bugged at first, apparently drawing aggro without doing damage (seems to be working now--was it fixed or never broken?).


However, an AoE shot is a nice change from generic random specials and it has proven very useful to me. So while I'd still prefer to see them focus on our top issues, I don't want them to change fan shot back.

I am not sure if I will be keeping master pistoleer if they remove fan shot completely. This is compounded by the useless condition of most of our other specials. Even pistol melee defense 1, which actually works, is marginal at best in PvE.

Heck, I can't even get angry anymore, which is a sign that they have messed with my skill tree enough to make me not care much about this game anymore.

I cannot even imagine why people complained about AoE of fan shot. Sure, sometimes it is hard to not bring some other nasty into the fight, but usually this can be avoided with proper angle positioning.

To be fair, fan shot is far over powered in PvE for the amount of skill points it takes to get, especially when used with CH pets. However, it is NOT overpowered if it was a master ability (ie., multi target shot requires the entire tree, so changing this to what fan shot is now makes sense ).

Something not mentioned above is that with pending AI changes, AoE is going to get much more dangerous. This is an indirect nerf against all AoEs which raises risk when using a pet or in a group situation and should be considered in the "balance" decisions by the Devs.

On a positive note, thanks for the hard work Philosopher. Your efforts are appreciated, regardless of what the devs listen or don't listen to.

This should be moved to master as multitarget otherwise we are once again stuck with nothing but crap shots. Which is why they made fan shot aoe in the first place.

No where did I say it was too powerful, I was giving the most probably reason for the change...ALSO


YOU DO have a multi target shot...Multi target pistol, but its broken...


And know something? All the shots you mentioned are also broken hehe.....
