Thread: PATCH RESPONSE THREAD: Okay, what's changed and what's bugged?

"This better be a bug or i'm out, i did 90damage to someone in pvp, it's rediculous."

I killed a guy doing only 42 dmg bodyshot2's today. I chased and chased him. The battle took about 10 minutes. He was also using a pistol. I'm gonna become a rifleman now. I'm fed up with this class.

I definitely think that the PvP reduction is a bug, not a stealth change, because it was never discussed by the Devs or mentioned in the patch notes. Like you I hope that it gets changed back. One thing you might want to know is that apparently DoTs haven't been reduced, so until they fix the bug the real king of the hill is /mindshot2.

I gave my thoughts on the FanShot change on the other thread. I'm surprised they made this change, given that (1) none of us asked for or liked the change and (2) they never told us that this change would be in the next patch, but now that it's hear I don't think it's worth changing back. FanShot wasn't our best special to begin with, and now it's marginally more useful. AOE/cone is overall better than non-AOE/cone. If you're worried about aggroing other critters and can't isolate the group you want, then just use BodyShot2/3, which is better anyway.

As far as the knockdown change that has been reported in another thread, I suspect that's a bug. Until then, enjoy superfast levelling once again.

I was so mad when all I seen in the patch for us was a nerf. Now, I couldn't be happier! A shot that actually works, and works well. Fanshot was already my favorite to use, now its even better. Who ever was saying its broken is dead wrong, I killed 5 spineflaps in one shot while testing things out today. The cone attack came in very handy when I did the final leg of this months story to get my badge. For once, thank you Devs, very much.

Our one useful special attack is broken and PvP damage is way bugged.

WHat is the purpose of Multitarget attack again? Isn't that supposed to be our "cone" attack?

Oh yeah right, now all the pIstoleer specials above the First tier are useless.

Wonder is it's time to take a break and let SOE unphuque themselves.

Well FanShot wasn't really useful before the patch -- so at least they've made it marginally useful.

On a different note, I spent a long time trying to test FanShot last night on large groups of low level mobsaround Mos Epsa. I had no trouble at all controlling which mobs got hit -- unlike others, I had no trouble making sure I didn't hit a mob unintentionally. When it worked, it worked great -- I'd kill eight womp rats with one shot. However sometimes I noticed that damage would appear in the combat spam but not actually occur -- the creature would still have full HAM. So sometimes only the targetted mob would actually be damaged, even though the combat spam said that I hit 5 or 6 mobs with FanShot. If I used FanShot again, then it would hit (and kill)all 5-6 mobs.

Maybe this is what someone was talking about when they said that the mobs need to be in combat already in order for you to damage them with FanShot. I think that if that is the case it is a bug because the combat spam shows that you damaged the mob and the mobs entercombat ("aggro") even though they have not actually been attacked. Also, sometimes -- although I'm going to need to test this again tonight -- FanShot will kill all 6-8 mobs with the first shot, even though I was not in combat already. I have the feeling that the AOE *is* buggy and needs to be fixed, but that it works fairly well and is better than having a useless random HAM attack.

Sounds as if you're having some success with the new FanShot. I will spend all night tonight trying to replicate your result, and if I can do that, I will agree that FanShot has changed for the better. I'd like to think so....I really would.

Wow... From the looks of things I'm getting out at about the right time. I cancelled my subscription and am going to drop this one for a few months. Getting us all worked up about possible fixes and additions then hitting us with yet another nerf bundle to go along with a fix that half of you seem to think is a bug?

Well... I'll give this one a shot again in about 2 or three months when they've had more time to get their drek together. I wish the dev's sense and at least some kind of palpable success. It would seem they're in need of both.
