Thread: DX2 failed to kill Doctor.....
Who cried nerf? Not I. I just wondered why my AP1 pistol failed to do any significant damage to an unarmoured foe. Ap weapons are supposed to do mre damage against unarmoured foes than not AP weapons. I can **edit** near one shot diseased bocatts with my DX2, which has a resistance of 20% to acid.
Oh and deadnewbie, I think the Clear-a-sil is getting to your brain, and is killing the politeness part. PISS OFF.
It does miss a lot because it's intended to be used at very short range.
1. dont blame the Dx2 for your bad tactics. Bodyshot sucks in pve and pvp. Seriously I use rollshot over bodyshot any day of the week. Even in pve if you kill slightly slower the ham cost is much less over time. Random pool attacks are best for pvp and pray for head shots.
"Well I dont think the AP1 is working at all for the DX2 - this should be a top fix for pistoleers."
AP works as it does in reality from what I can see. AP rounds are designed to be sleek and pierce through a set amount of armor and then burst/spread. AP1 is just enough ap to go through resists at optimal. Although with light armor it still pierces but you don't et a bonus to damage.
A target vulnerable to acid is like a target not wearing armor at all against dx2. The acid-type laser or whatever passes right through it. A target resistant to acid but only innately and not by armor per say gets the full effect of the above listed. The acid-laser round pierces into through the resistant skin/hide and then does more damage because its slowed down to the right speed.
A target with light armor and acid resist is going to get the armor pierced, but the added resistance will hinder the acid round somewhat in damaging. This is basically like having acid-resistant skin like above but much thicker so the round barely pierces. Get medium and heavy armor with acid resistance and you are better off using a tangle pistol if its vuln to stun =P. The round doesn't pierce far enough into the armor to do much damage at all.
you guys are ridiculous
Im master doctor AND master Pistoleer.. I die, im not invicible
any BH/hybrid can kill me..
Hell anyone who can heal themselves or can take spice has a shot at killing me
Deadnewbie, be quiet.
If people have a problem with a profession, they're supposed to post about it. Whereas if you're happy with it, don't insult others -- it merely makes you seem less effecient at living.
This reminds me of some pvp that was happening at the rebel outpost on Rori. An imperial master doctor/master pistoleer wearing full composite comes in and starts taking out massive amounts of folks.
I go single on him a few times and end up back at the clone center. Once I started thinking a bit more straight and doing things like using spice, food buffs, putting on some composite, psgs I start to win a few. But it was definately fun. He was a good fighter, would warning shot my pets away and I would try to draw him around buildings to use the corners to try and get a knockdown on him when he came close.
And on the note took a test of getting doctor buffs, mind spice, sta/str drink, mind buff food, full set of composite and ran into Bestine just to see how long I'd last. My tally of all the damage I took from first shot till last was 6131 dmg. And to be honest if I took a few stim Cs I could have lasted much longer.
No class combo is unbeatable, it's just the question of who can stack the odds better.

armor piercing is bugged on DX2. it has zero armor piercing. thats why
I've never been a fan of buffs at all, in any game. Especially games like this. Makes it seem to much like an arcade game. And as it stands, there are some who can't afford spice, buffs and what not, so there is another way that PvP is skewed. I took some neutron pixie once and the downer wasn't worth the upper.
How can you not afford spice? It's cheap. Most smugglers are happy to even sell it at all. When I PvP I'm usually on Muon gold with a full dose of doctor buffs. I can take a flame thrower blast head on, kill the commando, stand around chit chat letting the burn do its thing and still have over 900 health left on me. Commando does 1 special (the flame single or cone). Then I take 8 shots. He can now take the next shot. If I survive the first blast -- doable with buffs and armor -- I win.
Spice is about planning. Put a kitchen timer on when you take it. Give yourself a 2 min warning. When the bell goes off find some place to go and hide.
PvP is not just about specials. It's equipment and usage of said equipment. If you go PvP without armor, expect to die to someone who is armored.
