Jaegen, I do have scout, I"m master scout and novice Ranger. Just traps get resisted alot, and many traps Poof after they land, no message on them. Lots of times the delay I get from server lag, by the time the trap hits him the creature is already on top of me and dealt 800 damage on me. Between server lag (you know, that thing where you run up to 40m of the animal, go prone, click attack and you respawn at 75m away), Traps poofing, Animals/NPC's hitting you from 30m away, KD being useless, specials that are random so I'm killing mobs 3 times (did I mention I can E-mail you pics of me killing a Bolle Bol with stoping shot only, I killed him 1 through mind, 4 through action and2 from health, but they where all really close calls). All I know is that I'm not going to sink anymore points into pistol. I'm not even going to hunt anymore, I'm gonna stick to making money as a miner. Once SOE's arms get's tired from swinging the **edit**ing nerf bat around, then I'll see which way I should go, this is rediculous and can't believe they are charging us as much as they are for this poor quality game.

Oh, and since the thread is about patches, Can someone answer why:


1.) flamethrower's are max damage 800? I just read a post of someone with 1050 max damage on flame thrower.


2.) Just read another post with BH laughing that they are doing 6k+ damage with their new llc


3.) some hammer, don't remember the name, now has 600+ damage


most of this stuff have AR ratings. Why wasn't the DX2 fixed? My DX2 is till top of the list for my server, that means my top damage on it is 132. What kind of sick **edit**ing joke is this? Also, they fixed the range for everyone else's special weapons, but our range is STILL FUBAR. What do I think of this patch, I think this patch was a nerf disguised WITH, get a load of this, a tease to get our mind off of, "**edit**, we got nerfed", and into, oh wait, look at this, left handed weapons? When we all know they will not introduce duel wield for us to have left handed weapons. Just candy to get our mind off of our fresh wounds. **edit** sony and their BS. They can't seem to do anything right!

hmm.. i was getting so close to disarming shot too..


well, i guess the good news is we can expect to get stronger in the next patch hehe.


maybe next time we can get stronger and everyone can get nerfed? Making everyone else stronger is almost like nerfing us.. couldnt they leave it at that?

Regarding dodge. My little quick-test with 65 shots fired at me, and 3 dodges, was done by a pistol2 doctor (You know, +30 accuracy, was standing, and it's the MARKSMAN pistol2 line).


now, granted, maybe if we both run, and I was at longer range it might work better. But heck, a pistol2 user vs a master gunfighter and <5% dodged? Ugh. He missed about 14 times, which probably means his overall accuracy wasn't all that hot. It certainly needs more testing though, but as it stands, it's not effective.

Well, 14 misses out of 62 hits (ignoring dodge effects) is a 77.5% hit rate, which seems pretty darn good. This seems to indicate more that weapons (or those particular pistols being used) are way too easy to hit with, and thus accuracy mods aren't very valuable after a point, rather than dodge necessarily being broken. It'd be interesting to have more evidence for a formula regarding the defense mods, so we have some math to back up issues with defense mods. I have noticed however that PvP is almost exclusively run-and-gun, so taking a double penalty (for you moving, and them moving) might make accuracy more useful (and by association, dodge).

Yes, both standing, and near the pistol's "ideal" range. I wouldn't expect the hit rate to be much lower, else, he could not solo white cons (the pistol2 fella).


Tying accuracy to dodge is what I also suspected...and it IMO, doesn't make sense. Dodge is more easily balanced independant of accuracy (since accuracy is already so convoluted with stacking professions, ideal range, weapon modifiers, power up modifiers, position, movement walk, movement run, etc.,etc.

Heh. Umm..folks, I'm going to post a more detailed report on the development page, but I wouldn't jump over to smuggler just yet. I am both a smuggler and pistoleer. My current abilities in those trees are listed in my sig. These status effects do not stack in any way shape or form. So, all told I have at least 4 state changing moves. Pistol melee defense 1, Panic shot, Low Blow, and suppression fire. They're ALL on the same 30 second timer. In other words, if I pistolwhip something, I cannot do any of the above moves for a status change for 30 seconds more.


Luckily Warning shot is still working sufficiently. Use and abuse this information as you please. But if these changes stay live, I can't see myself keeping all of those boxes. Why have suppression fire if you have any other state changing move? (for example)

wow i just spent 3 months playing this game and working up the pistoleer tree to get what? i mean lets see we do the least amount of dmg, miss the most, have the worst weapons, and all our specials are broken.... i've put up with the devs for 3 months hopeing they knew what they were doing, and now they nerf us all the way back to nothing. i mean i could probably get beat by a novice marskman with one carbine or rifle skill. and i mean commandos do like what 10k dmg a hit. o wow their weapons have a 10 second delay.... so what, their target is dead after one hit w/o a special..... i don't know what profession to get now, i love the pistol and i hope they fix it cause i don't want to drop my skills.

I dodged more tonight than since the day this game came out... The only knockdown I landed was on a chuba(after attacking the 4th one cause the others missed) so I cant tell if the damage was increased. It was useless on Maulers. Stopping shot and Fan shots missed more. BUT I DODGED!



This threshold is mine. I claim it for my own. Bring on your thousands, one at a time or all in a rush. I don"t give a ****. None shall pass.
