Thread: DX2 still a POS?
Ok.
My DX2, then an fwg5 i've played with, on Bria.

YES its still a POS. I bought myself a krayt FWG, it got sliced for speed (oh well, i'll buy another eventually) and I always have a powerup stuck on it. If I'm in a serious battle i'll use the FWG5, otherwise i'll use my scout to destroy the insanely high HAM lairs.

DX2
100-156/ 2.4 spd / normal ham AND A AP1 rating that DOESNT WORK. Know what? even if the AP1 rating worked... this gun still is a POS because its acurracy is absolutely garbage. I still keep it around only because some things have heat resistance, and can conclude that this gun is basically a specialty weapon, only to be used for certain occasions.
sorry for jumping around on thoughts, but with fan shot I constantly hit the baddies for 1500 almost every second. I feel like im somebody when im grouped with commandos, and they start telling me that they like my pistol. FWG5 lives.
Lemme brag on my new DX2, with Krayt tissue and made by Grail.
With 23% dam and 32% dam powerup
125-298, 23% wound, 2.2 speed.

Aem, I'm not sure that gun would owna Krayt-enhanced, sliced, poweredupFWG5. The armor piercing on the DX2 is bugged, so it's just a matter of whether the DX2's higher minimum damage and acid outweighs its horrible accuracy and the FWG's higher maximum damage.
I ran some tests and usually the lower accuracy on the DX2 makes it a poor choice. And I have +155 accuracy (the highest you can get in the game).

I disagree...I have an FWG5 with 77-394, 1.6 speed (with slice and powerup)
I also have a standard, run of the mill DX2 @ 102-159, 2.0 (powerup to about 120-209 damage)
I confess that I use the FWG5 much of the time, but alot of things have AR which halves the damage of the FWG, but DX2 damage remains constant...there are also alot of things with much higher heat res than acid (if a critter has more than 40% heat resist and acid vulnerability, DX2 still wins)
yeah, range is crappy, but at master or close to it, you hit most of the time even with the crappy range penalties...so it ends up being that I use the FWG vs the DX2 about 50/50 depending upon what I am fighting, because if they have AR1, the FWG is reduced to effectively 38-196 not even counting the protection vs heat...so we're dealing with an average damage of about 118 vs average damage 165 in these situations...and my DX2 isn't all that incredible like my FWG is (at least on Valcyn it is)
