Sounds like fun,but pistol melee 1 was king since day one
Not after the patch before last it was worthless, as soon as you knocked something down it would get right back up
Yeah I had some fun with that one yesterday, piles of mountian squills at my feet.
I had been trying it out on a few mobs on Lok (mostly the Kusaks), and this guy appears out of nowhere and says "CSR. Timestamp 4:05am. my_char_name KD abuse>>>>>>" then he disappears. I assume he took a screen shot. I was probably 3k from Nym's, nobody else out there for miles.
The guys name was Marshall Dillon, he wouldn't reply to tells or anything, it was a driveby attack in a sense
So if they're going to ban/suspend me for using my own pistol attack on a live server, that's pretty lame.
When the bugs are in their favor, we have to tolerate it. When they're in the players favor, that's exploiting, despite the countless millions of xp made when knockdown was equally broken in early history.
We'll see what comes of it, no indication so far that I was "written up".
One thing that interests me, he clearly was snooping people or looking at logs. In the hour or so I was logged in, I hadn't earned enough xp to seem out of place, considering I can make 200K pistol xp a night with my usual group of 4. Perhaps it was because I was playing late at night?
Any other instances? Was Dillon being the "good little CSR, always vigilant" regardless of the action the devs would take against people?
He wasprobablyon orders. But frankly, with the pet armor broken last night, I had to use it or else my hunting partner's grauls would have gotten hosed.
Apparently we have to take the good with the bad, but when we use the good to make up for the bad, its exploiting
oh well, it is all fixed now and fairly moot to argue.
