Thread: I worked really hard to get master pistoleer, it sucks.

My advice to you as far as hanging on to Master Pistoleer is to do so. If they lower the attack speed to .5 seconds (which they really should). Things will get better for us, and you can always get Master Commando back in a week or so since you deal 18,000 dmg if you decide its not worth it.

I only use Torso Shot as a leading shot followed by BS3. I find BS3 is a darn good shot and it replaced BS2 on my F10 key. On unarmored playersI hit for 600 - 900 each second all in the health bar. My best eyeshot was 260.
Torso Shot is awesome DOT though. My macro for DOT is torsoshot,bleedingshot,healtshot1,healtshot2, then I just run without firing any more specials and if I live40 seconds after I fire the last shot the opponent is likely dead. If I'm losing I'll use this and a couple times it has saved me, since the other guy incaps after I do but before he can DB.

Not worth spending all those skill points for. You're better off going for BH Pistol if you're interested in pistols.

Well there you go. You're an Expert BH as well as a Master Pistoleer. It's the BH skills that you're relying on, not the Pistoleer skills. Don't mislead people by saying "Master Pistoleer pwns" because aside from two speed boxes and the Novice box you're wasting all of those skill points. I almost never use any Pistoleer skill in PvP or PvE except HealthShot2 (novice). The Pistoleer tree totally sucks.
Just like you I don't want to surrender all my Pistoleer skills, but obviously both of us would be better off by surrendering everything but Novice + two speed boxes to get to +97 Pistol Speed. The rest of the Pistoleer tree is a complete waste for us. So be more accurate next time -- telling the newer players reading the forum how much "Master Pistoleer" rocks is misleading.

If you're using BodyShot3 instead of TorsoShot, you're making a big mistake. TorsoShot is not only a DoT but it also does normal damage, and it has a 3.0 multiplier so it's way better than BodyShot3. StoppingShot is even better than BodyShot3 once you have +100 speed.
Unlike you I don't use bleeds as often in PvP -- it's usually unnecessary since I can just kill them in 4-5 shots. I tend to use Torso and HS2 just for the wounds. BleedingShot, in any event, is a pretty weak special and I wouldn't bother with it.
Not sure, Torso Shot seems to hit for around 700 and BS3 slightly higher, though maybe I'll look at the combat window and check it out. I also use point-blank area 2 a lot if I'm close - the damage is very high, though there is no area affect. I use fanshot if the targets action is down. Eyeshot is an obvious choice against unarmored targets with a short mind bar. Believe me, eyeshot is the cheapest (easiest to get, yet most powerful) shot in the game and I hope they move it.
I only use DOT attacks in situations where I'm running or in withering attacks.
It's getting pretty boring having all combat skills, though, but I hunt a LOT so Master Scout is still viable. I really hope PBA2 and disarming shot are fixed, and hope we get at least two state effects in the Pistol line. In the BH pistol line (4 boxes) you have blind, mindbleed, and fire, so it's kind of lame that pistol has only bleed. You'd think one of the melee defenses would at least stun or dizzy someone.

I believe I said I love Master Gunfighter. And before I picked up BH Pistol I was still eating commandos as Master Gunfighter. It was when I dropped Master Ranger that I decided to take BH pistol line. Darn, you want to talk about 66 wasted skill points, look at Ranger, lol.
