Thread: Need testers and test info for patch feedback
I don't understand why anyone is upset that FanShot got changed. FanShot WAS NOT and NEVER HAS BEEN our best attack, at nearly any speed. At lower levels, you're always better with BodyShot2. At high speeds, you're better off using StoppingShot.
If you desperately want to do random HAM damage, which you ONLY want to do if (1) the enemy has an extremelylow mind or action bar, or (2) you don't care about killing the creature quickly and just want to get the highest about of XP possible in a group, then use KipUpShot or StoppingShot.
The only people who are upset that FanShot is AOE are the folks who haven't figured out that hitting health 55% of the time is almost always worse than hitting it 100% of the time. At least having it as AOE gives us some variety in our attacks.

Hmm, I'll get on testing all of these things when I get back from my classes today Jaegen.
But as far as Fanshot goes.... I'd rather see Mutli-Target Pistol Shot be an AoE attack and Fanshot go back to how it was. Just my opinion though. After all, don't we have enough Area of Effect attacks that do Random HAM damage as is?

It's the essence of being a pistoleer. Hitting random pools and now, with the fanshot changes, random mobs as well. Great. And now that I've mastered, I'll be able to hit these random mobs with uber accuracy and with greater speed than ever before!

It should be left as it is...it gives us a start at versatility, which is what this profession has been sorely lacking.I have done extensive testing and DOES work correctly...and for me it has worked every time. The problem with some people that have not payed close attention is this: It only hits MOBs within the cone who are CURRENTLY IN COMBAT WITH YOU...which is nice because it keeps you from drawing others into combat with you, which would result in you getting 'mobbed by MOBs as it were'. If you want to draw in MOBs that are not currently in combat with you, tab and fire until you get everyone attacking you you want to hit, then fan shot the lot of them! I think it's great, and it seems that most pistoleers who have actually tried using it in the way which it is currently designed to work seem to agree...once again, it is nice because it actually starts to give us some diversity in attacks, which we can use (once everyone learn how) different tactics with, instead of being a 'single special combat profession'

This is wrong, it will pull creatures that aren't attacking into combat with you. I have tested this extensively with pets Gurrecks and pets on Endor. Same result every time. This is what Multi target is supposed to do, NOTFan shot. Lets think through this intelligently, lets read the description of Fanshot and then rethink our argument.

We do not have 2 AE styles at master pistoleer. We have 1. It's MTPS. Disarm2 was an AE and it was a bug that it was AE.
I don't know what to say really. Alot of people use fanshot for PvP and I hate PvP. I droped that box, frankly, I got tired of the Dev's jerking our chains so I'm slowly working my way to smuggler, you know, a profession that can use a pistol better then a pistoleer... Anyway, it seems alot of people are happy with the AE fan shot, however, there does seem to be a problem from what I read. The AE is not only aggroing the mod your targeting, or the mobs in the "Cone", but the shot is agroing everything in the radius. Also, lots of people say that it's not damaging mobs that are not in combat with you although it is agroing them as if you did attack them, which should be another bug. So, if the consensus of the profession believes it's for the best, then just have these two bugs fixed.
I also think that they should speed up or raise the damage on stopping shot since fan shot was taken away...Or at least make it a targeted health pool to help us out some. Stopping shot is useless right now unless your a master, so why don't they have it in the master's box?
What happened to our delay being brought down to .5? and the other professions being raised? Didn't they say we are suppose to be very very very fast? If you ask me that was a load of BS to get us to shut up.
BS3 still sucks, I droped it last night since it's obvious the dev's don't care for fixing it.
Aiming got worse when I thought the patch said they where increasing aiming, not decreasing, or maybe I read wrong?
I haven't noticed a difference with ham cost's, sorry, pistolwhip still costs the same ham it seemed to me but the damage sucked. However, the 30 second KD was nice, shame they removed it now.
AP bonus still not working
certification is still not working!
And pistoleer's still only have one weapon, which just happens to be the second to worse weapon in the game (second to the CDEF). Commando's have better pistol's then elite pistoleer's, Bounty Hunter has a better pistol then an Elite Pistoleer, Bounty hunter's have better pistol specialsthen Elite Pistoleer's, Smuggler's have better pistol specials then Elite Pistoleer's....Am I the only one that see's that we're getting screwed?

sorry havent used disarming shot since they umm ... fixed it . leave fan shot an ae and give me a comparable signle target dmage in master psitoleer slightly better then fan shot since it is master skill.
funny how riflemens ae works pretty damb well but pistoleers got cought grabbing there ankles
Well, I agree that riflemen kind of had that...but I was doing around 750-850 dmg per fanshot last night. That would be what, 1.5x damage multiplyer for you? You still rock for pure damage. Granted we can move around, but **edit** for tat.
Now, lets get SL the ability to earn xp again (if you haven't heard of that delicious new wrinkle...)

Change it back to what it was and fix MTPS. I liked fanshot as single target. It was a nice style to use.
