Thread: Q-3PO Where is my 6k PVE Pistol Huh? This isserious you better read it

No offense to the original poster, but this is a little inane.


Pistols are the weak sister damage wise of the weapon world. Everything should do more damage than a pistol. A Pistol should not be doing 6000+ damage like a flame thrower or rocket launcher.


Where pistols excel is in speed and versatility. In theory, we should be shooting more often than any other weapon. With my sliced DX2, I have time down to 1.7 seconds. It means even on a good Heavy weapon where the speed is around 6, I'm firing 3-4 times per shot they take. I'm more accurate and using a pistol means I take less penalties as a moving target.


The day my pistol does as much damage as a rifle or a heavy weapon is the day this game gets silly.

So you're just proving what I'm saying then. I'm saying Pistols and Pistoleers *SHOULD* be firing a lot faster than the Rifleman or the Carbine Speicalist or any Heavy Weapon. Therefore we *SHOULD NOT* have a pistol doing anywhere near the base damage.



Am I missing what you were trying to convey?

Inhocmark I think youmissed the point of my post.....


your right pistols dont do the damage of a rocket launcher.....period


What i am trying to get across is that 2 or 3 commandos with a medium pet can kill the most awesome beasts in he game easily,.


Those beasts drop loot call tissue...this tissue can be used to make weapons at least 2 times more powerful than anything you have seen in any weapon...I believe it can be used in armor.....most anything crafter to make a Godly like product.


Until now it took a group of people to bring down one of these creatures to get this loot so the loot is rare so are the items made from it.


1/2 of all the servers are becomming or are bounty hunters and commandos so this commando team /BH team can get large amounts of this loot in very a very short time.........then they have a scatter pistol that does unsliced 2 times the damage of your sliced powerd up pistol


Or armor thats 60% resistant to everything........and lots of these items not just 1 many


these Heavy weapons are made to fight the AT ST and armored military targets


How many hunters take flame throwers and rocket launchers and lightining guns on a hunting trip ? The same thin goes with a AT ST its not a hunting rifle.


Rangers are soposed to be the best hunters they get skills to give them more damage to animals in hunting


heavy weapons and armored vehicals are not soposed to be used hunting it totally unbalences the game as it is.


When a person who is not a bounty hunter trys to use a scatter pistol it does hardly any damage the same with a launcher pistol if you are not a commando.


The same should be true with these weapons not designed to be used in PVE its unbalencing

Now about the big damage with heavy weapons


The damages is ok and realistic I agree with it totally


but a 44 magnum fired at point blank or close range makes you just as DEAD as a Rocket! or any other heavy weapon.your DEAD


A full burst from a Carbine in your chest makes you just as dead as a rocket


A head shot from a sniper makes you just as dead as a rocket


A karate chop to your throat makes you just as dead as a rocket


A sword thru your heart make you just as dead as a rocket


The point is 6000 points of damage will be 1500 points of damage in pvp any weapons can realisticially kill anyone with 1 shot or hit So to be realistic everyone using a weapon needs the same damage as heavy weapons to be realistic if they have the right condititions to use their weapon


So if the developers want 1 shot pvp kills in this game which is what we have when i shoot you at say 5 meters with my DX2 it does X10 damage to get the same damage as the heavy weapons.


Thats balence what we have right now is imbalence


Guys running and flaming me at range with a heavy flame thrower or shooting rockets lightining cannons partical beams is unrealistic.....they should miss 99 out of 100 shots running and gunning with a heavy weapon but they do hit you maybe 1 out of 4 shots and usually it only takes i shot to kill the average player.


The poor guy without the heavy weapon has to hit the other 10 times or more to bring him down Sooooooo guess who wins the battle


Accuracy with these weapons while running should be almost a known miss but when they kneel it should be good against a non moving target and fair against a moving one or standing still for the flame thrower.


and one shot kills will get real boring real fast in about 2 more weeks


just wait till you want to go overt and a overt commando is standing next to the recruiter or a bounty hunter just wait til you come back from a mssion and they 1 shot you while your in the converse window


Also area and splash damage should also be a factor with heavy weapons causeing great damage to anything close to that weapons impact friend and foe alike also the user of the weapon too

so you're telling me that a swordsman should always kill a person instantly (MAX 2 hits!!), since or u get a sword right through your body - through your head, throat, legs cut off, arms cut off


this game is NOT about realism, its about balance and fun..........


my point, keep things as they are, but just give every class its advantages and disadvantages (I.E. Bounty Hunter should not own every master<insertweaponskill> nor should a commando own persons/PvE animals)

Woot! Lets balance everything and makeit allthe same!



Lets look at all (well most, can't say i know everything) of the facts. You know, the things people like you like to leave out of the post.



First off, have you ever tried to kill a krayt? Ever? In a group? Solo? Even using exploits? With 20k+ ham, heavy armor and 50-70% resists a bounty hunter or commando can do 1.25k dmg. That would be a rocket launcher, of which you would need 2 whole rocket launchers to do enough dmg to kill the krayt. Krayts do over 1k dmg, usually 2k for the ones i've seen that drops tissues. Your awesome pet has 10k life....You can't fire fast enough to kill the krayt before it gets you (unless you have at-st's which is another story).


Krayt tissues are also sellable, so gasp! guess what? You can buy them! You too can have the uber 1337 weapons! I know smiths that spend most of their time looking for these things because they want to make the best pistol around. I said pistol because most other weapons take more than 1 tissue and thats a pain. So the krayt problem wasn't a problem at all....



Next, max damage and dps at master. Yes pistols are fast to start off with but they might get jewed a little bit on damage because they capped the speed at 1. But look at this....The only other weapon you can cap the speed with if you don't take bounty hunter is the rifle. Rifleman already get the short end of the stick and in my personal opinion they deserve something, anything. Carbines do not get capped speed without bounty hunters and neither do heavy weapons. The best +speed a heavy weapon ever gets is +45, which brings the fastest heavy weapon down to 2 speed at master.



Now lets look at what pistoleers do get.


Almost always a 1.0-1.2 speed weapon after speed mods. A relatively good +accuracy as well as bonus+ accuracy while moving. They get a ham specific attack as well as 2 bleeds. They get a knockdown, even if it only works within melee range. They get low ham costs per shot, and the standard energy, heat and acid damage. They get no, or evry little, melle dmg modifier. All in all a pretty good list....



Now what you fail to mention when comparing classes....


Riflemen get a 2.5x melee modifier. They have crappy accurracy unless at ideal range, then its "ok". They have really nice speed at master, but they also have huge ham costs per shot.


Carbineers never get a 1ish speed weapon that can outdamage a pistol at the same speed. The carbines that have higher damage don't get enough of a +speed boost unless you take bounty hunter as well. Ham costs are painfully high.


Heavy weapons have awesome stats! Woot! They are so uber! Why don't we all be bounty hunters and commandos? What? you guys don't get special attacks that shoot farther than 15m and they have around a 15 second cooldown? Oh, and your accurracy and speed modifiers suck? The only way you can be on par for dps is if you keep buying weapons with only 32 shots? Well gee.....


Hmm bounty hunters...Won't touch this subject, it's kind of volatile


The way you make it sound they should only have 5 classes. Crafter, Marksman, brawler, entertainer and medic. Then everyone would be perfectly balanced and happy....

Just have fun and play the game. If you like what other classes have, just surrender a few points and go for it.
