The DX2 pistol has a specific niche, and does very well there. In most situations the FWG5 will outperform even a well made DX2 (You have to realize that we are at the mercy of the resource spawn :/ We may be able to make them...but we may have to use 300 OQ gas and 400 cond copper because they are required).

My DX2 is 91-146 2.9 unsliced (got kind of a bad slice and its 2.3 now)

For the person that suggested an SRcombat pistol....you do realize that these are made with Neutronium steel (not the best from the couple samples Ive seen) and PLUMBUM freakin iron...which is garbage across the board. In short...unless the mob has 100% heat and acid resist, use your ~195 FWG5, you'll still do more damage. If you hacve to use an energy pistol at all, use a scout. Even with the 25% from teh mobs armor the DPS will still be higher than a SRcombat (crappy resources = slow and low damage)

Hah! My DX2 Reaches 250 with a bad ass powerup. Now if I can only get a weapon repair kit...

Just some things I would add Primus :

1) AR1 doesn't put a 25% malus on damage...it is 50%, dmg is divided by 2.

2) SR Combat is slow due to ressources, yes...but mine is once sliced 89-155 dly 2.4. MUCH better than any other pistol if the mob have AR1 and huge Acid resist (to be better, do you realise a FWG5 should be TWICE its dps with NO heat resist ? not likely to happen).

DX2 is prety good with krayt tissue.


I have a 172-210 Sliced 2.6 speed. I love it AP1 and Acid is great.

I still say that, at this point, its more worth your time to go and get a good FWG5 and slice and krayte the heck out of it. Sure, using tissues and slicing you can make a DX2 relly good, but you can to that to an FWG5 and get a better one. At least until acid damage starts pulling its weight.

this evening I was running around on dantooine, and I present:


Grassland Voritor Tracker: lots of hp. AR2 armor. 45% is resist (to the light stuff). The ONLY vulnerability was acid. My and my npc stormtrooper buddy fought it, and while stormy took a good amount of damage, the fight was over in a normal amount of time.


I then water across a smuggler and a rifleman (and two pets) attacking a single lizard, and it took them ALL FRICKING DAY to kill it.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. If you'd done the math, you'd realize that at 125-240 it still blows a lot of other DX2's out of the water.



If you're firing without a power up, you're only wasting its time.

Agreed. Even with the powerup, it's still nice. It's better than mine.


I like my DX2, and it's true, you need to carry a few weapons, because of all the resists.


I would like more pistols for Pistoleer, something for the Master as well. Make so the Masters get something special. Anyone (even BH's ) can train Novice and get DX2.

The FWG5 can reach godly max damage level. I'm in pursuit of possibly the highest max damage FWG5 any server has ever known. It's going to take some time but the results when I'm done should be very interesting.
