Thread: The Need for Some Maturity from all Players
And my point was that you were parroting every other rifleman/carbineer who complained that pistoleers (and still do complain) always hit. We don't always hit. After this patch we really don't always hit. Before you throw gross generalizations at us to tell us how poor your lot in life is (you only have one 16m weapon you can use eh, master marksman not withstanding of course) try looking at the way things are now, not the way they were then. I don't have a problem with the new commando, I think its great for them. I have a problem with a commando coming here and telling us how tough it still is for them. Go pawn that off on the tailors.
And as for burst run, did you consider burst running up to us and using your flame thrower? Use your pistol (you do have master marksman) as you approach, change to FT on your hotkey list and blast away.
I think the word whining is over used here... Whining is for kids and typically they are ignored because they are based on emotion and not fact. If you are an adult andis still resorting towhining, then I pity your parents. We pay for our services so it's OUR right to ask for adjustments to the service if we're not happy with it. Now, toany pistoleer that wrote a post about nerfing commando's because he got wasted in PvP in one hit from a flame thrower (which constitutes whining because it wasn't based on any facts):drop PvP immediately, better yet, drop SWG immediately and pick up a copy of Pong. You obviously don't have the intelligence or ambition to want a challenge from a game.I'm not going to yap about how tough the commando'shad it or how we got shafted, but if you can't even learn to runaway from a Commando bearing down on you with a Flame Thrower (BTW our Flamethrowers are inaccurate past point blank) then your only choice for ajolly good time on a computeris Pong.
Aside from those that are complaining because they can't PvP, Commando's aren't THAT horriblyoverpowered. I've been a pistoleer and it was VERY easy to get the xp needed for master. The pistoleers were equipped with more then enough skills to become gods 'IF' you knew how to use them (keyword being 'IF'). Before this latest patch, I was killing Snorbals and War Grondas easily with a crappy FWG pistol and that was at Novice pistoleer. Try killing a War Gronda with a flamethrower EVEN AFTER THIS PATCH (much less before the patch)at novice commando. The outcome? We have toWORK to get our skills. For those who don't know the definition of work, get a job...As a commando we don't have many resources (specials) at our disposal to get the job done. A pistoleer's arsenal includes: Pistol Whip, Health shot 1 and 2, disarm, stopping shot to name a few. The commando's? We get Flame single's, and flame cone. Sit back, punch macro's of combat sequences, enjoy a brew while in combat? HELL NO!!! Miss Flame singles, run around for 15 seconds to try again, spam Stimpacks because you just got trampled or tossed in the air...
Butin the end, EVEN if we ARE overpowered, we deserve it! The commando's have been ignored for so long they deserve a little bonus for their patience (even ifit would be just for a few months!) And to those who continuosly yammer about us being to powerful : Learn to PvP! or go buy Pong...
Why do people expect there to be a balance between the class's.
BH and Commando ( for example) have to master marksmen and either unarmed or scout before they can even become a novice.
A pistoleer,riflemen, or carbineer only have to master one weapon, not even become a master marksmen.
Pistleeres, riflemen, carbineers have to clear 4 boxes, upt to level 4. A commando has to clear 21 (5 X level 4 andmaster marksmen)before he can become a novice commando. Bounty Hunters have to do 34 boxes ( I beleive). Now do the math, why wouldnt commandos and bounty hunters be better.
If they are not going to be, the for "balance", I should be able to become a commando by completing only 4 boxes of a skill. That way we are trully "balanced".
While I do agree that BH and Commando's should be the toughest combat classes out there, I disagree that they should be able to hit their f5 'I'm a bounty hunter, there for I rule' key. As stated above, there is skill required to be good at combat. Because one earns the title BH or Commando (a great accomplishment, I take nothing away from that) does not give the then entitled right to automatically be the best at combat.
In other games, sometimes a less powerful class or character played well can best a 'better' character played less adeptly. Thus bringith my larger point...
I do not contest that becoming a BH or Commando is hard to do. I have never cried nerf and will not cry nerf. Commando's you've had a tough time, and so have the BH's at moments. I am in the school that things should be fixed, not nerfed and I don't PvP so frankly I don't care how my class stacks up to anyone but the NPC's out there.
However, if I hear one more time about how awful it is that a BH has to climb to master marksman and master scout...
Does one forget that by climbing these trees, they are not points squandered away. There are real skills and benefits that are provided from these trees that help round out your character. Being a master scout, well you are an explorer and can therefore move faster then most people. Well, I'm not a BH and I love my explorer skills. Wasted skill points, I think not. Trapping is only useful in PvE, and not very effective from what I've seen. I admit, it's a tree I wouldn't want to have. All professions have less desirable trees. Hunter however allows you to have an income..and a good one. It's a very valid skill that I also have sacrifced others to keep. Survival gives the BH the abilty to self heal with a bit of patience and makes them a very useful character in groups. Of course all of this was not always the working, but great strides have been made. The mastermarks men tree gives bonus's and attacks for allHAM pools, and allows a future BH to have the full spectrum of weapons at his or her disposal when attacking strategically. You may want to be a BH, and not want to use a carbine or rifle and are unhappy that you went up these trees. But according to SWG, to be a bounty hunter all weapons must be mastered. That most BH's only like using the pistol, does not make that the only valid skill. I'm sure smugglars all didn't want to be brawlers either but according to the universe, a smugglar should be able to throw a well placed punch.
Because you 'spent' the skill points doesn't necessarily mean that you wasted them. You are the beneficiaries of the skills, specials, and attribute bumps that the skills you bought provide, whether you value them or not. Everybody gets the same number of skills points to use...YOU picked the profile YOU wanted. If getting that scatter pistol and mindshot was a goal of yours, then you did what it takes and I applaud you. Please stop complaining that you had to do something SO unfair to get you there.
I'm fairly sure everything will even out in the end, my problem is that they felt in nessary to nerf the good skills in the pistoleer tree with out even fixing the broken ones yet. I am truely feed up with the way things are being done now, the only way I can show my distaste is not subscribing any more. I didn't pick pistoleer and CH because someone told me that they were the best skills (in fact people told me to pick other skills), I picked them because I wanted to be a great gun fighter and have some pets to back me up. That was my goal from day 1. Again I am sure everything will work on in a few months from now, but I will no longer be a paying beta tester. When the game is working the way it should be I will be back, I really like this game, its a shame what its turning into now (the ones the cry nerf the loudest wins).

OMFG, pass the crackpipe please!!!! With an FWG I make 12K-15K damage using BS2? Please, who the **edit** are you joking? I do max damage of 400 with BS2. If I'm lucky I can do 1k damage with stoping shot and that's RANDOM POOL. most mobs my level have 4k health, stoping shot has a LONG timer on it, I have to wait about6 or 7 seconds for the next shot togooff, so I'll do 12k of damage max, on a lucky day when the sun is shinning on myA$$, in 24 seconds, and that's IF they all hit the same pool.YOU on the other hand just admited that you do 8K-10K damage in ONE shot, so you'd wipe the floor with that mob of mine and then some while I'm still running for my life. Don't come over here preaching to us about how long you've beenbroken and now you guys deserve more. **edit** that! We've been broken for a longtime, your quote about twirls was in a time when we only had ONE, yes ONE master in the game, and he barelyposted orsaid anything, so we didn't know what was broken at the time to shuv it. You guys had more then one master obviously since you knew what was wrong, which probably means your class is MUCH easier to get then ours, so once again, go preach somewhere else and get thehell out of our boardsand take your sermonelsewhere!

Here is a crazy off the wall idea.... how about EVERY class has at least 2 skills that are totally awesome? Then... a new player would look at all of the professions and think, **edit** these all look so cool... i cant make up my mind what to be. As it is now... most professions are totally broken (dont even get me started on what they did to pistoleers) for 1 reason... NERFS. Its only natural that you are gonna suddenly have a rise in numbers for a certian profession...because its the one thatsnot completely broken at the time. With the 1 expception of Commandos (God knows it was about time for those poor guys) The Devs have never "fixed" any class... they have only taken away.
Everyone who cries to nerf ANY class should be slapped. Every class should have at least one skill that makes them seem "over powered". If not... whats the point of mastering ANY profession??? If some of the really big mobs are going down too easy.. fine make that mob immune to KD/Suppression/whatever.
Nerfing is killing this game.... and crying for nerf is a big reason this is happening.
Im gonna love watching Commandoes and Bounty Hunters put out that insane damage on mobs now... it makes the game more INTERESTING. Dont any of you dare scream nerf on this. Instead spend your time posting threads on giving your poor broken class a reason to exist.
Im a pistoleer... **edit** near a master now... and probably gonna dump the whole thing. This class was fun to play...till it got just completely ripped to shreds by the nerf bat. Pistoleers are all but worthless now. Why.. because most "thought" we were overpowerd. Truth is ... Pistoleers where NOT overpowerd.. .they just had notfixed some other professions yet. But too late now. Id go as far to say that Pistoleer is now the worst proffesion you could choose at this point.
In the long run... nerfing ofANY class hurtsALL classes.
Instead of Screamin NERF... Scream for the Devs to give your current proffesion something just a good.
