Thread: Ok im convinced
I'll try and reply for what I know, the smuggler. We have 4 styles in our Dirty Fighting line, and 3 of those are just about to be "nerfed". The other (Feign Death) works well in PvE, but in PvP just makes ya a good target practice for wound making, rendering it useless.
To top that, we get NO MODS at all to that line.
The Dirty Fighting branch of the Smuggler tree is not that great.
Feign Death: Good in PvE, terrible in PvP (we can still be hit.)
Low blow: ranged knockdown (going to be nerfed)
Panic Shot: AoE shot that pauses the hit targets (going to be nerfed.)
Last Ditch: really powerfull shot with a long timer.
We get NO pistol modifiers at all.
I think they're nerfing the Pistoleers because there is just too many of us running around. Its sad but true. When you start the game the only weapon you have is a pistol, so naturally you start gaining pistol XP and its a natural route to follow. This is flawed and needs to be fixed. Why not give the newbie player a pistol, a carbine and a rifle and let the player decide which weapon to use? sounds simple to me..but then again SOE never does anyting that is simple lol.

With all the crying and whinning going on by people, Im always simply amazed at how uninformed people are . Not the aboveposter whinning, just overall in general. And i agree that the best exp can be found on starter planets. I made master pistoleer by hunting mostly on dantooine and naboo. Dant when in groups, Naboo solo. And on test server there wasnt many hunting groups, i did the majority solo.
Once timers are in, it doesnt matter if you have 300 people with knockdowns hitting that mountain squall. The timer is on the target, not you. If you have 3 mobs, you can switch targets and knockdown each one. But once a target is knocked down, it is immune from a state change again for 30 seconds.
Esdel ... compared to the Pistoleer specials, the Smuggler specials *are* great. At least you guys have a ranged knockdown plus another ranged delay shot (panic shot). Our only useful special is pistolwhip.
Last ditch seems slow, but once you have high pistol speed it's much more useful ... if the nerf goes through and nothing else changes, we'll see a lot of BH Pistol + Smuggler Dirty Fighting guys running around.
