Thread: wanna know that im sick of
Actually it used to be somewhat possible to solo Krayts (even without suppression fire, the old kd, etc).Well itstill is possiblebut due to the sheer numbers of people who live in Krayt Canyon these days 0 fug-et-about-it.
The strategy was this:
Find a lair. Hope a juvenile and a canyon krayt were out at the same time. Line up the canyon from a good distance and make sure the junvenile is between you and the canyon. Hit burst run, /attack;/hs1;/hs2;/peace. Run your a$$ off in the opposiite direction. Many times the canyon will aggro on the juvenile or visa versa. So you simply (lol - not always!!!) run back, bleed the juvenile, and spam BS2 at the canyon till its dead. The tricky bit is to be ready to run from the juvenile if it aggros you. Loot the canyon and hang around and hope the juvenile bleeds out and dies (you get really lucky and get two krayts to loot). This works allright, in theory, but in practice it really doesn't work enough to be productive to those 'krayt ranchers' out there. Be prepared to run a lot cause you will die more times than you live.
So you see it was smart planning that lets one solo krayt dragons and, of couse, really had little to do with Pistoleer skills. A smart rifleman could do this much much easier than a pistollgimper. Commando, and Melee classes, well this doesn't work for youcause you will get incapped on the first aggro and your to close.
NOTE To orignal poster:
Comments and brags like you have made are detrimental to the Pistoleer profession and you should keep your /rants to yourself. SWG teeters on the brink of chaos because of the rampant nerf this and nerf that crap. Somebody reads the dookie you post and gets upset cause they can't solo krayt dragons and they get upset and "yet another nerf *.*" thread spawns. We will conceed that your the best darn SWG player around - but only if you keep your off-base and damaging comments off of the boards :0.
Zzam is right. I don't know about the Krayt part, but I've found it amazing what I've been able to do in the last couple of weeks, since I've decided to start taking Pistoleer seriously. And at just 0110. Even though disarm is bugged, it's still a good well aimed, double damage shot. Health Shot 2 is the jewel though. I soloed my final rebel story 2 mission, and until 2 weeks ago I had never killed anything over a 3000 ham. Now, 4 stormtroopers (the other 2 were dragged out the other direction) and the officer. One at a time. Bleed, run, lead one out, stand back awhile, finish, rinse and repeat. And being able to buff myself helps. And from what I've read about knockdown, it will only get better.
I am a master pistoleer, master CH, 4 ranged support, and 3/0/4/0 medic. My BH/pistoleer partner does a little more than twice as much damage in PvE as me and 2 maulers. I knew this going in though. If I wanted to be the best pistol weilder I knew pistoleer was not the way to get it. Pistoleer IMO is just the most flexible combat profession to go with CH which is why I took it. Pistoleer is a filler. It's for people who need to be fairly good with a weapon to back up the other profesions they want to take.
As a M-pistoleer/MCH /StimD medic I can do just about anything in the game PvE-wise by myself (if I need). Having a more skilled pistol user as my usual partner doesn't make me envy his skills. It's unfortunate thatas a multiple combat master with 2000 point heals I cannot hold my own in SINGLE(!)PvPdue to blue bar slaying(BH), and one shot kills(commando). It's part of the game for now, so I accept it. In group PvP I do just fine, which is exactly what my skill set is made for. I don't need to be an "Uber" duelist.
Pistoleer is niether as weak or as strong as the far sides make it out to be. For the points it is a good deal. That is what everyone needs to deal with. FOR THE POINTS its a good deal. If you whine that BH and commandos are tougher well then take those professions! The developers set skills in the lines of the pistoleer profession. If they aren't the skills you want, take the profession that has the skills you want! This is usually backed up by "But I dont want to have to take master scout and master marksman, it takes all of my points." Well, DUH, thats why theBH gets such good perks.
Before I settled on my path I had been: Rifleman, Doctor, Combat Medic, Commando, Smuggler, TKA, CH (I gave it up 2 other times), Bio-engineer, and Dancer. Its a fair selection of indecisiveness. I concluded in the long run, unless I wanted to be a BH type gunner, Pistoleer was a good deal... FOR THE POINTS.
All I hear is some ape beating his chest and tryin to look tough, while hurting the rest of us. We get nerf after nerf and you encourage them. Most pistoleers havent hit master yet and as such their complaints are valid. We are completely useless untill master and only marginally better after.
Do you have an alt on another server? Try and grind your way thru carbine and see how we compare, or commando. We are no faster than any other master and we are seriously outgunned by most. I don't want to be the best, just the best with a pistol.

"Can you make me any good level 25 pets...lol"
Well then if you can do that at novice pistoleer than why are you crying that pistoleer can't kill anything?

Oh so thats what you call soloing a krayt? running it into a juvenile. i did that at novice pistoleer. thats not soloing. thats getting the best creature in the game to help you by going cannible.
So is your idea of "soloing" standing there in the middle of an open plain pointing your gun and just shooting? Or is it using skill and tactics?
Cuz if it's the first, then no wonder people whine "I can't soloooo"
