I just recently mastered pistoleer, and i'm definately enjoying the huge speed difference it made, i do not have points available for master marksman for that 5 speed so i have 74 pistol speed total. last night me and a friend got destroyed by someone using a different type of weapon, that was firing almost twice as fast as i could. so i'm wonderring, how else can i get pistol speed increase? are there items that increase it, and if so are they craftable or do i have to hopefully kill the right thing to get it?

thanks for any info.

What's the speed of your current weapon and what are all the combat professions that you have?

That pistol is slow, if you got a 1.6speed weapon you'd notice a significant increase.

By the way, did you pick up the class of he person who was doing double your speed? It was probably a BH...

yes i did, but i didn't want to start a pistol vs rifle thing really.

it's was a rifleman/ranger, he went prone and crawled as fast as i could run after him, hitting twice as hard as me and a lot faster, it made me sick.

Hmm, know what I do whenever a rifleman starts shooting at me? I charge them so they loose their accuracy bonuses. If I try to run away I know I'll be dead. I have a better chance of surviving by charging a rifleman. This applies to a lessor degree to carbineers as well. I'm a Doctor, so I don't have the CM skills you do. However, if I was a master CM I would have thrown a mind poison on him while charging. Riflemen use Mind for their specials, so it would at least keep him from using those while I closed the distance.

Riflemen have acces to a rifle called a Spraystick that does much lower damage than a Laser or T21, but is faster and has a shorter effective range. It's sort of their close defense weapon.

However if he was a Master Rifleman, then the speed bug would let him shoot nearly any rifle with specialsavailable to him at a shot per second. So, it wouldn't have mattered what weapon he was using really.

If a rifleman doesn't kill you on the first shot, you'll need to charge him before he can get the second shot off or you will be a deadman. Don't run from a rifleman, it's bad for your health .... er, mind.

well, i guess i shouldn't say for sure it was a rifleman, but i'm pretty sure he was, and he hit for anywhere from 600-1200. he was prone and still moving as fast as me, away from me while shooting, not sure if riflement can do that now that i think about it, move while shooting. that made my charging not work. i rarely use mind poisons 1 vs. 1, it seems a little unfair. i was buffed so i lasted a few shots, and the thing that really makes me wonder is i died of health damage, faster than i could get off a heal, not from mind damage.

To answer your original question:

No, there are no items, clothes, armors, or buffs in the game currently that can increase your attack speed.

There are items (skill enhancement attachments) that show speed skills, but currently those are all disabled. Once they work out the balance issues, they'll turn them back on (the way they did with the BE tissues - they removed a couple that presented issues and re-enabled the others).

Currently the only places to get Pistol Speed skills are the BH pistol line, Pistoleer, and Marksman.

Start earning some money or hunting Krayts and pick up Krayt tissue modified weapons. That will cut at least another 0.3 speed off your weapons. In addition you can use power-ups that reduce your delay.

are these powerups that don't currently work craftable, or drops only?

thanks

and thanks for the info on krayt tissues, i'll have to find a weaponsmith that'll work with me on that on kauri.

There no such things as a fair fight. You either win or you lose, its your choice.

If you have a skill or ability thats aids you in combat ....use it. Only people to cry about it is the ones that do not have it or do not have it yet. I have been killed many times in PvP because some one used something on me that wiped me out, and I did not whine about it, I got what I deserved I died like a man, and I made sure to bleed on his boots before I died.

2nd place sucks.

Expoliting , now thats just mean and unfair.

I got CH also and you can bet the farm I am gonna use my animal in a fight, he is my weapon after all , that and my DX2.

I knew how weapon powerups work. i use the 33% 16% max/min damage almost constantly while pvping.

on the fair fight issue, i think mind poisons are more of a hinderance than a help 1 vs 1 for me. i through it, stand there a few seconds, by the time i can shoot again i could have gotten off about 4 fan shots, maybe more, and by the time it does damage first, i've done 5 or 6 more fan shots after that. not a lot of people live through the first 10 fan shots

Sorry for the confusion.

The items that do NOT work are the skill enhancement attachements. These are dropped loot that either look like rolls of tape (I think meant to be rolled up strips of cloth) that can be put in socketed clothing to provide bonuses, or like plates that can be added to armor to give bonuses. These are what do not currently work.

Weapon powerups are player crafted and DO work. They give you some improvement for the next 100 shots. The best ones give +32% to a stat and have 1 or 2 secondary effects (each one half as impressive, so if it does three things, it will be +32% to the primary, then +16, and then +8). You could, for example, get a powerup that when dragged and dropped on your weapon in your inventory will give you +32% to max damage and +16% to min damage for your next 100 shots. Your weapon's name will turn yellow when a powerup is on it, and back to white when it wears off. You can also examine the weapon to see if it has a powerup on it currently.
