Thread: Best shot pistoleer's have post patch?
Actually I think I was wrong -- use BodyShot3 at Master, no matter what speed of weapon you have. Jaegen was suggesting that you use StoppingShot, based on the theory that you'd get roughly the same amount of Health damage plus some action/mind damage as a bonus. The reality, though, is no matter what your weapon speed is you'll always spit out significantly more health damage with BodyShot3 than StoppingShot, and it's not worth doing a worse job targetting health just to have 15% of your attacks hit mind.
As a Master Pistoleer (+74 speed) with a 2.0 speed weapon:
BodyShot3: Speed =(2.4 * 2.0) - (2.4 * 2.0)(74/100) = 1.25 seconds.2.5 damage / 1.25 seconds= 2.0 Health Damage per second
StoppingShot: Speed = (4.0 * 2.0) - (4.0 * 2.0)(74/100) = 2.08 seconds. 5 damage / 2.08 seconds = 2.41 random HAM damage per second = 1.32 Health Damage per second
At Master with 1.2 speed weapon:
BodyShot3: Speed =(2.4 * 1.2) - (2.4 * 1.2)(74/100) = 1 second (speed cap).2.5 damage / 1 second= 2.5 Health Damage per second
StoppingShot: Speed = (4.0 * 1.2) - (4.0 * 1.2)(74/100) = 1.25 seconds. 5 damage /1.25 seconds =4.0 random HAM damage per second = 2.2 Health Damage per second
So I'd recommend BodyShot3. I made a mistake in my previous post. But why did I get a one star ... was my post THAT bad? hehe ![]()
what about pistol melee defense 2. I like never see that work and knockdown anyone anymore. Nerfed?
and how does a master pistoleer compare to a BH with expert pistol tree? Ive been wondering this for a while? anyone know? cause I like to use stopping shot, eye shot, and torso shot in fights. What does a pistoleer have to take the place of these skills that BH has, anything? any way to compensate?
PMD2 doesn't appear to be working except to do some melee damage. PMD1 hits, and still hits hard (I was doing 300+ per hit last night, and must have done a critical hit at one point for 800--I laughed so hard I didn't realize I'd killed it).
The KD worked maybe 50% of the time.
In answer to the original poster, it would be situational. Body Shot 2 (replaced by BS3 in some cases) for general use and Fan Shot for a cone attack. This assumes that you have an adequate tank to hold the aggression, but it should do wonders on a crowdconsidering it was already one of our best random HAM attacks.
Johnb,
I would suggest that therenothing purely skill or statwise that a Master Pistoleer could bring to bear on a Expert Bounty Hunter. Their targeted HAM attack is unhealable and hits harder than all of our healable target HAM attaks. They have more speed than we do, as well as access to better pistols.
It would pretty much boil down to the Pistoleer being a much better player than the bounty hunter (which could certainly be the case). An even match goes to the BH.
yea, and fanshot should be a pretty good cone AoE attack too. Hey Philosopher - do you recommend using Bodyshot 3 at master with a fast pistol? or just use stopping shot for everything?
Thanks.
Zerona ,
Since I dabble in CH I have a tank... I worry about a AE attack because that could pull other aggro onto myself. I haven't trained up ot bodyshot or fan shot (either line) yet... which would be most advisable (assuming I have a tank).

Unless BodyShot3 has changed in this patch, it's worse than BodyShot2 until you get to Master. I'd spend your points on the speed/accuracy lines for now, or go get FanShot if you want an AOE attack. The AOE is actually pretty nice, especially if you have a pet (which I don't but apparently you do!). I haven't had any trouble controlling which creatures it hits, and I spent a few hours testing it out on large groups of low level mobs last night.
I just got stopping shot today..And I LOVE it on creatures...1000-1400 on Banthas all day (Krayt FWGS 1.0 speed 74-229) Yes it's sliced w/Power up
