Well, the short of it is, not much on our end.

Recently a flurry of changes were looked into for combat professions, but we were not one of them. Iwas stunned, and immediatelyposted our top 4and said "please do not pass us up this round", and I got a reply that said they would try to squeeze some ofit in. MTPS, DA1/2, and BS3 I listed as issues. One response indicated that MTPS was supposed to be working..it will be re-checked ( I suspect this has less to do with it being useful/easy to use), and that making it health targeted would be "considered" but wasn't likely. No word on disarm and body shot 3. Dodge (and all defense) is supposed to have been tweaked, not sure when/if it will go live.

Anyway, I'll go to the TC when it's up to test Dodge and Fan Shot, to relay any changes back here. Supposedly defenses were boosted or will be tweaked soon(counter attack, dodge, block).

The good news is Thunderheart is in charge of correspondent issues now, and seems to have a lot of things he wants to discuss with correspondents. The way I see it, it's a good thing, because now instead of having issues report after issue report, and have us chasing devs on the general discussion board, and now correspondent board (which has to be all me), we can just give our info to Thunderheart and know at least ONE step in the communication process is complete. It will save us some headache, at least we will know it got put in the right place, and IF it's to be read, it will be available from Thunderheart.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to talks with Thunderheart, I hope that changes the way things have been going.

Supposedly all melee attacks were changed to 10m range (from 7m I am guessing). Something else to test on the TC I suppose to see if PMD1/PMD2 were included.

Yes I know, stop the press.

jaegen, if they increased melee range 3 meters, does that also include increasing lunge 3m? because if that is so, then a pistoleer with an fwg5 only has a 1 to 2m cushion in which to get the best results from his/her weapon,so let them know they should look at changing optimal ranges for pistols as well, if the afore mentioned is true.

The range for lunge is 15m.

Even with the proposed 3m extension?

Melee attacks from 10 meters away? I wonder how that's supposed to work? It would be like a boxing match in which the boxers each stood on opposite ends of the ring and yet were somehow still able to hit each other.

Do melee combat characters now come equipped with extendable arms and legs like Inspector Gadget?

ok if the range for lunge..which last i checked caused a position change... is 15m then what is the use of melee defense? Last i knew melee defense had a range of around 5m. Seems a bit unbalanced if our single KD attack can be outdistanced that badly.

ps. WHy do we have a short-range KD when all the otherranged classes who have them have a RANGED kd

Altitude, due to lag one cannot take the meter ranges literally in SWG.

Simultaneity at point-blank range is what they're after.

Rifleman don't have a ranged KD. Commandos don't have a ranged KD. What's this horse **edit** about "all the other ranged" classes? The only people with ranged KD moves are Smugglers, Carbineers, and Bounty Hunters.

Lunge is a novice brawler move that has a 15m reach that forces a posture down change.

Ok even though i am skeptical about the fact that lunge won't be effected by the melee range extension, it's nice to hear that isn't their intent, but i still say if you extend range for melee professions then you must do the same thing across the board for all professions, reason being is that if the server is off 3m in melee then it must also be off 3m in ranged combat as well, i mean it has to be range is range no matter what profession right? and as far as a ranged combatant is concerned , (while maybe not as dramatic an effect as it has on melee) that 3m comes into play for modifiers doesnt it? if the information on weapons is correct like in the example i used with an fwg5's optimal range which is 19-20 m, thats only 2m total in which to get the best proformance, which meansit's rangemodifiers are off as well by at least 1m either way.
