Hey all?

Was hoping to see if any opinions on which is better!!?? Im almost ready to level and wish to know what you all think. Don't PvP alot, mostly concerned with which is better at killin critters. Should I go with Body 3 and bleed em with health 1 and 2 and then finish em with that, or try stop shot and roll dice on the quick kill?? does stop shot even work??

Thanks in advance Peyote

I know body shot 2 is stronger then 1 but I heard ppl complain that BShot 3 is not stronger then #2.. hopefully an experienced Pistoleer here, can help the both of us out. If not, well then in 90K exp I will have body shot 3 and will test it myself!

thanks.

Nevermind stopping shot or body shot 3. I have found that fan shot does more damage and is faster than either of those. I can't say I have done exact research on this though it is just my experience using all of them in combat.

Bodyshot 2 deals less damage than bodyshot 3, but since it is faster, it deals more damage per second than bodyshot 3, which makes it better, which sucks for pistoleers. This needs to be fixed. Fanshot is a great, fast shot, but does not isolate any particular HAM like bodyshot, so you may have to whittle away at all 3 HAM pools until the enemy is dead. But in PVP, unless you are using the BH skill eyeshot, then fanshot is far better, because players tend to have low action from their own use of specials, which bodyshot will not hit.

For a master pistoleer, if you have a pistol with a speed of less than 2.0, bodyshot3 will do more damage than bodyshot2. This is your best shot against NPCs or critters. I had this very question answered for me in a thread i posted last week. The speed mods, special delay, and weapon speed are critical in answering just about any questions about comparative damage from one shot to another

Note that the screwed-up nature of the Pistoleer tree basically means that there's no better shot than Body Shot 2 (a pre-Pistoleer skill shot) until you actually gain Master Pistoleer itself. The reason being that only at Master level do the speed advantages finally cancel out the delay modifiers for the specialshots. So basically you've got to grind all the way through to Master Pistoleer before you can efficientlyuse any of those neat shots that come with the profession.

Like the previous posters stated, Fan Shot is great, and Body Shot 3 will prove a powerful shot when you start getting your pistol speed bonuses.

In my opinion, you should master the Stances and Grips line first. There you will gain Stopping Shot alongthe way to Fan Shot. Because your speed bonuses are in the Special Abilites line, which is combat XP based, you can get those boxes along the way up the Stances and Grips line, followed by the Pistol Tactics line.

In my opinion it's a waste to get anything but the Marksmanship line first. Grips and Techniques really only give you special shots, and like I said before, they're no good until you get the fullMaster level. The Marksmanship line gets you improving your stats fastest, allowing you to attack bigger and better creatures.

I have had great sucess with fan shot and aoe'ing. You realy need a pretty good pet and just send him in to attack the lair, wait 2 - 4 secs for all the creatures to engage him in mele then run up and lay down your fan shot fire. I have damaged up to 5 or 6 creatures at once. Just need to watch for the creatures that are no in mele with your pet as they may turn on you. But when you get the hang of it you can kill 4 or 5 mobs in the same time you would have killed maybe 1.5 -

Good luck

I cannot agree with that philosophy. The marksmanship tree is my least favorite. I am wishing I did it third rather than second. It only provides some more range while moving, etc and slightly better aiming. I found doing techniques first is all important. Why? Because simply put fan shot is a shot that gets you a lot of xp real fast. I found I outdamage almost everyone in parties with just fan shot. Doing Marksmanship first, the only special moves you have is Healthshot 2, which you get at novice. Whether you do Grips and Stances or Marksmanship second, I still believe doing techniques first is the best. Fan shot makes the other trees go so so much faster in my opinion.

Fan shot is worse than Body Shot 2 if you're fighting creatures or NPCs one-on-one. If you're using Fan Shot (unless the last patch made it more powerful) you're wasting action points. There is, as far as I know, no shot that equals Body Shot 2 in killing power, so if you go for Techniques beforeMarksmanship, you're wasting your XP on a tree that gives you no advances in accuracy or aiming, and all you're gettingare 4 new shots, none of which kill as effectively as Body Shot 2. If you don't believe me, just take a long look at the Pistoleer FAQ stats for the different shot types. In terms of damage per second, Body Shot 2 might not look so good, but when you factor in that it's a targeted shot, it's far better than any other shot, unless you're already a Master Pistoleer.

No tree gives you as many advantages as Marksmanship, because the Pistoleerspecial shots are useless.

It provides a55%improvement over the marksman levelsin terms ofaccuracy (32% of the total for the profession), it gives you 67% ofthe total'accuracy while moving' points, and 75% of the profession'stotal possible aiming improvementpoints. I don't consider those numbers insignificant.

The other Pistol Weapons XP trees give 7 special shots, none of which are as effective at killing as the Body Shot 2 special (which you get before becoming a Novice Pistoleer). These trees also give you a bunch of improvements to Dodge, which I'm told is broken anyway, as well as defences againstStun, Blind, Dizzy, and knockdown, all of which are fairly rare and somewhat non-effective attacks anyway.
