Thread: Pistoleer Broken Devs solution: Nerf Fanshot
Sorry for the rant...
But the dev solution to fixing Pistoleer is to lessen the damage on Fan Shot and make it hit multiple targets?
Fan Shot and Health Shot 2 are the only Pistoleer skills worth using....A gimped Fan Shot is just going to break us even more.
Fan Shot is really the only damage dealer, as stopping shot has too large of a delay and all the other skills deal less damage than the base Marksman tree. Hitting multiple targets just means insta-death when you draw aggro from everything in the area. It's not like we have any sort of defense.
Am I missing something in the logic here?
Samra, to be fair they did increase the damage ratio on BodyShot3, so I think our targetted ham specials will gain somewhat.
Also, if you noticed the designer hinted at more sweeping type of changes to our specials repertoire. I have a suspicion we will get some more interesting specials and less of the "8 random ham specials that are worse than kipup shot" syndrome.

I apparently missed the proposed speed reduction to Stopping Shot. That at least makes more sense.
I think the real problem is the fact that the Dev's responses show that they have not read many of our correspondent's awesome detailed posts.
They touch on a few issuesbut they show that they haven't researched a lot of the work already spelled out on sticked threads on this board. That is rather discouraging IMO.
Any improvement is an improvement and lets be happy for just a little bit- they can't fix ALL of the problems at once.
Like above, the speed changes might change things around a lot so we'll have to see.
But the only thing I would like is that ONE more attack besides BodyShot be targeted to health.
Lets consider the options: Fanshot would do medium-high health damage to multiple targets, OR stopping shot does massive health damage to a single target with more delay?
Guys, you need to read their posts more carefully.
They didn't increase BodyShot3 AT ALL ... Holo just gave the same multiplier that Jaegen has been using in his calculations. The problem is not that BodyShot3 doesn't hit slightly harder than BodyShot2 -- it does -- but that it's much slower so it does less damage over time.
They also didn't say they were going to make StoppingShot quicker. All they said is that they'd redistribute the speed modifiers so that instead of getting +20 at Master, you get the speed quicker ... and they also suggested that they'd give us more speed modifiers. That's great but the reality is that at high speeds we are outgunned by all other professions -- see my sticky post above (How Speed Works in the Game: The #1 Issue Facing Pistoleers).
Even at +79 speed with a 1.5 speed pistol, you will not outdamage fan shot with stopping shot.
That means, indeed, we get a net reduction in the single target ham attack. However, do we suck it up and take our roll/kip up shot as replacement and be happy?
I think he might not be done examining the issues, otherwise I'm pretty sure body shot 3 would get a boost. I mean, really now.
I'm hoping they're adding more speed and not just redistributing the speed mods we already have. If it's just a redistribution of our speed, then the proposed fanshot and stopping shot changes won't be that great.

Jaegen, I think our best bet is to post EVERYTHING on this thread. Just put all the issues out there. They won't fix everything, and you can be judicious or whatever, but the reality is that this is our one chance to have this guy read our points and learn about our issues. We need to educate this guy because he's the master of our destiny.
So just keep posting ideas, thoughts, whatever. Give a more comprehensive post with bigger issues, etc. Repeat stuff from your reports -- it's obvious that they haven't read them.
