Thread: The Rifleman Correspondent Wants to be God
I just found one of the most hilarious threads ever. Please do NOT post on this thread. We don't like trolls on our forum and we shouldn't bug the people on the Rifleman forum either.
But the Rifleman Correspondent's list of proposed changes are absolutely hilarious, and I wouldn't want all of you to miss out on this hilarious read.
If the Rifleman Correspondent had his way, a rifleman could attack you from 100 meters away so he can kite you endlessly (Request #10). Will you able to run at the rifleman to close the distance? Nope, because he'll now have a special attack that will stop you from closing distance with him (Request #17).
So he'll be able to kite you, and you'll never be able to close the distance even if he stands still. Of course if that isn't enough, he wants to nerf Pistoleer accuracy so you can't hit anything unless you are at short range (Request #4).
And don't worry, since rifles do so much damage already, he wants to un-nerf the T21 (Request #5) IN ADDITION to increasing speed and damage on rifles across the board (Request #11). And needless to say he wants new rifles that shoot lightning, fire, and acid (Request #7).
HAM costs for rifle will be reduced as well (Request #6), and their special attacks will become more powerful (Request #2). They won't have the 2.5 melee penalty any more (Request #1).
He's not satisfied hitting the best pool -- mind damage -- so he wants rifles to be able to target ALL three pools effectively, something even a Bounty Hunter can't do (Request #15).
Rifleman isn't a perfect profession, and it has its problems, but this list isn't about fixing the profession -- it's about making them uber-Gods. If this guy gets the Devs to make even half of these changes, every Bounty Hunter in the game will start surrendering their skills to advance up rifle. LOL
Here's the original thread ... PLEASE don't troll or post nasty responses:

Yes, I did. Everyone voted "Yes" to almost all of them, and he said that he's passing along any that get 70-80 percent of the vote. ![]()
Heck I'd vote for all of these too if I was a rifleman. LOL
Again, that's a comprehensive list of things that at least one rifleman has asked for on the thread where Aldeon was polling for opinions. While it wasn't explicitly stated, only the most popular ones willlikely be forwarded to the devs.
This is not a constructive thread. I'm not sure what you're doing here other than trying to ruin Aldeon's reputation. The quotes and the post itself are taken out of context. Nowhere in the post does Aldeon suggests that he agrees with all or even any of the proposals.
Also, not everyone voted 'yes' to them (frankly, I don't like his format - he probably should have asked for a prioritization rather than a line-item vote). It's insulting to imply that our correspondant has nothing else on his mind other than to make sure riflemen become a god-class.
Look, I'm not trying to insult your class. But when this guy comes up with this ridiculous list of suggestions and says he'll pass along any of them that get 70-80 percent of the votes, he deserves a chuckle. I'm not flaming his thread, but this is pretty hilarious.
Pistoleer is just as broken, if not more broken, and we never came up with an absurd list like that. I could have come up with 500 uber suggestions too but Jaegen is too responsible to forward a list like that to the Devs.
If your correspodent asked for 2.5 melee to be taken off, for HAM Costs to be reduced, and for the T21 to be unnerfed, we'd all /applaud. But this list is a joke.
You say that it's "insulting to imply that our correspondant has nothing else on his mind other than to make sure riflemen become a god-class"? How else am I supposed to react to a guy who says rifles should have a 100 meter range, that they should knock back other professions so they can't close that range, that damage, speed, and power of specials should all be increased, who wants more powerful specials and more powerful rifles and everything else, all at once? I mean, come on. If he wants to be taken seriously, come up with some serious suggestions. The 100m range + knockback alone was what made me laugh.
The 100m range + knockback alone was what made me laugh.
he he, especially when yu know that 60% of players don't even SEE at 100m due to their system limitations
The mind pool thing wasn't that stupid btw...not being incap if Mind is empty but impossible to heal / use specials would be a very nice thing and would help balancing.
Yes there are many stupid things asked but this one wasn't that stupid.
Again, none of those are actually Aldeon's ideas. They all originate from the thread where he asked the opinion of the rifleman community. As I said before, nowhere does Aldeon say that he agrees with any or all of those ideas. He's trying to represent the class; if you think it's ridiculous, feel free to contact the people who originally came up with those suggestions, but don't imply that Aldeon agrees with all those ideas or actually believe it would be a good idea if all of those were implemented.
I STILL don't see what value this thread has, other than to make Aldeon out to look like a fool. This is not a constructive thread.
Hey now don't dis the rifleman.
You forget on our first list, we asked for hoster's and twirrly moves. *cringes*
Oh God, twirly moves. LOL
Take a look at the thread again ... Jaegen responded to the Rifleman Correspondent and they started insulting him and one-starring his post.

Hmm, first of all, we need to get Pistoleers a special dodge all shots mode where we are unhittable. Attainable at master only. Then we need the "own all Riflemen" mode where we appear to be a warping mob. They will wet themselves in fear. Then we follow that up with our own GodMode "mother of all pistols." This would be a pistol attack that causesSWG to crash their system out to the blue screen of death, leaving their toon helpless before our fury. Yeah, lets Vote on this.
i definately agree with this good call.
