you have pistolwhip, quit whining. rifleman and carbineer would toss their dizzy abilities for that anyday.

Pistol whip not as good as a ranged KD and no dizzy to keep them down either.. I think Dizzy should be removed completly

lol Rhow.

Right.

What Rhow meant to say was, no one in their right mind would trade:

Carbineer:
Ranged knockdown AND dizzy specials (and stun on some)

Rifleman:
Ranged dizzy, posture change, stun specials

For:
Melee 7m range knockdown.

--------------------------

Don't even try it, pistol whip is a 7m range and is on a 30s timer, lol. something to be proud of, to be sure.

Pistols dont get a lot of state effects..OK, they don't get any. But that's because other weapons take more damage from melee, and require more specific tactics to use effectively. Rifles are best when they go prone and are limited in special ability use by mind cost. Carbineers need less setup time, but do still take more damage, have higher HAM costs (irrelevant when buffed..haha), and have low defense (even though defense isn't balnace yet..maybe one day it will be).

Of course, if you see the #1 rifleman question to the devs, it's to REMOVE the extra damage in melee. Which is cool and all, but I wonder what we get in return...

That being said, pistoleers might get intimidate added to disarming shot1/2, since they currently do NOTHING good, and possibly a state effect to stopping shot.

well..heres my thoughts on it...

Dizzy + Suppresion fire...keeps you down for an enternity....

7m Pistolwhip....Knocks them down...then they get RIGHT back up...

explain to me why theyd want to trade?

Atleast make a knockdown last for 5 - 10sec...

Dizzy in PvE is different than PvP. in PvP dizzy is good but in pve its not... BTW i dont have time to dizzy pistol users and it would be pointless do to the fact that they dont change position. Let me inform you about dizzy in PvE... Dizzy is a one time pass fail in PvE meaning if you dizzy and then suppresion the mob falls over he gets RIGHT back up jsut like KD. IF it fails then the mob does drop but still lost dizzy and chases you down to your swift death... I would drop dizzy for another special as it is atm. If you dont belive me feel free to test out dizzy in PvE.

Not technically true. Pistoleers don't get any state effects.

There's a blind and burn in Bounty Hunter and a stun in Smuggler.

PIstoleers don't get state effects, I assumed, as we usually do on the pistoleer forum, he was asking about pistoleer specials.

That's of course true, other professions have access to state effects, some of which you can use with pistols.

not if they were smart. pistol whip costs REDICULOUS amounts of action and works about 25% of the time and only knocks down the target for about 2 seconds. that's not even long enough to get off a second shot with the rediculous delay on it.

Is dizzy seriously that devastating? I usually just hit my stand macor if they dizzy kd me and dizzy is gone as soon as I stand, granted I may spam it 2 times (not sure I'll check tonight). But to classify dizzy as an I Win button is wrong, at least I think so.

Dizzying is effective. But it is in no way an "I win" button. No, that was disarm2 before the nerfs =P. With dizzy you only fall down if YOU change positions. And its not like it can't be cured. And as for Pistols getting something in compensation for the melee penalty being removed from Riflemen, I have to ask, why Jaegen? That penalty should never have been there in the first place. It was suppose to be in place because our superiority at long range. Lemme tell ya, we have some good advantages, mainly at master, but long range ain't one of em.
