Hi all, I am thinking about starting my PvP career and am wondering if any one can help me with setting up macros for attacking another player. I am conscious of you all not wanting to give away any secrets, if there are any to give away but I just dont have any clue as where to start. Any help would be much appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is a first shot macro that would be something like:

/aim
/healthshot2
/aim
/healthshot1

Or just:

/aim
/stoppingshot (or fan shot or BS2 - whatever for a first hit)

I believe /aim adds to your delay, but if it's a first shot, or an important shot you want to be sure you hit with (your bleeds), then it can be worth it. You could also have a set of hotkeys for using /aim /whatever that you only use when you're running or chasing a runner so that you're moving moving to help with accuracy.

Thanks for that reply YetiIronfist, I didnt think of /aim, but it makes perfect sense albeit the time delay between shots. You really want those first bleed shots to hit the mark. Good one, anybody else care to throw their 2 centsin.

I never use /aim in PvP ...although Yeti's macro is similar tomy old PvEmacro. In PvE it always makes sense to use /aimbefore the first because the mob doesn't enter combat until you actually fire -- so it's a free accuracy bonus.

In PvP /aim is usually a waste of time ... just fire and kill them. I also rarely use either HealthShot in PvPother than on pets... the damage it does is way too low to be useful because PvP battles rarely last long.

Aim also has the unfortunate side effect of stopping your movement, when I try to always be on the move to lower their accuracy against me.

For that reason, my PvP macro is either /healthshot1;/healthshot2;/bodyshot2;/bodyshot2;/etc, /bodyshot2;/bodyshot2;etc, or /KipUpShot;/Kipupshot;etc. First one is if they're enhanced, second is typical, and third is if they're a good medic or if I have carbine or rifleman compadres. Keep Suppression Fire handy as well to keep them close.

This does take a great time to think about. What i use in pvp is,

/healthshot2/fanshot/fanshot/fanshot/fanshot/fanshot/healdamage/fanshot until dead... it works some times and doesnt some times, and if i get close enough to the target before him/her start shooting/hitting me i can get a pistol whip in there then run away shooting. some tatics that seem to work is not to stand there and see who shoots the other one down first, you have to move, hide, duck and cover. Supprise attacks are the pistoleers friend. also i reccemend making a /deathblow macro it helps to eliminate time to deathblow your enemy quicker then click hold...wait deathblow, or CTL+U but a macro seems to work much better. Also another tip to pvp is, buy crates of powerups, when you know you are about to enter pvp combat, place a powerup on, this should boost your min-max damage by 15-30% very helpful to getting more powerful hits off this eliminating your enemy. Good luck, with pvp.

If you want to win in pvp(Duels) you need dizzy/knockdown then any hi damage shot.

I never use any macro to fight something, just because I don't want my attack to be too much an habit. The first reflex I have when being attacked is to clear my targetting to target my agressor (click anywhere to clear target) and then, sick HS2 (and thus, starting to hit target) then to move, often changing direction (not sure about that be seems that changing direction lowers my accuracy BUT also lowers my opponent one...he started the fight, I am not in best position to shoot him). While moving, I try to locate him and I often shoot HS1 then spamm with fanshot (only 3 moves in advance, cause I don't want for them to last for too long if an happy hit put my targets with 5% hp left, if that case I shoot a BS) and then, I try to know what resists he have (if full compo, AP and stun pistols are my friends).

All of this is very quick and at the end of my second HS, if I am not dead, my opponent should find quickly a way to kill me because I will retaliate and kill him very fast, not to mention I should be horribly hard to hit.

Each time I lost 1 vs 1 it was because I wasn't moving...the key is "keep moving, anything may happen, you must move". I often die because I DBed first or second opponent.

If there are 2 or more opponent, run away and force them to split, then attack the guy that will remain alone. If you put one down, don't try to DB him too fast, try to inca other ones before. If it is a pure melee with many opponents, everything may happen.

But a Pistoleer is a duelist, 1 on 1 in fairly close combat, a Master Pistoleer should be very hard to beat.

Thanks to all for the replies I have food for thought now. At least I can now figure out which way will best suit my fighting style, I am no longer clueless, just a little more confused hehe

HaHaHa, Rabbbyte, you fight like me. The only thing that changes much in my fights are how they start. I have a macro that I use for everything, I call it DoubleBleed, it is health shot 2 and then health shot 1. People say it doesn't matter, but the fact is I fire both of those shots off so fast, why not use them.

So, basically, I fire off my double bleed or a poison or disease to start the battle, then fanshot like mad. If my health starts going down faster then theirs, I clear my combat que, and drop one of my super duper B stimps on myself, then back to the fanshots. Oh and then death blow.

I constantly run around my enemy, or usually, chase them down, and never stop moving. As a master pistoleer, I rarely miss, but they seem to miss alot. Add a good ocmposite helmet, and I am quite a formiddable opponent.

Most importantly, have fun, talk some smack as you are running around and they are scrambling for stimps, and don't get upset when you get jumped by a couple guys, and take your turn in the cloning facility.

Even in PvP, HS (bleed) is usefull. It will forbid one heal to decrease, surelly 3 heals to clean.

Those "earned heals" can make the difference.

No one will stay for a long time with DoTs, they will kill you if you don't react.

Ok....I'm confused. All I hear about, from other pistoleers and these forums, is how FanShot is broken yet when I read this thread, you all are using it with what sounds like great effectiveness. I just picked up stopping shot and I'm very happy with what I'm able to do to the mobs. Haven't tried it in PvP yet but I'm curious....if FanShot is broken and I never ever hear anyone complaining about stopping shot being broken, why aren't more of you using stopping shot in PvP?

meagor,

delay... the delay mate...

I find Stopping shot so slow i rarely never use it. And since both Stopping shot and Fan shot are random HAM there is currently no use for Stopping shot, imo.
