Thread: PvP for Pistoleers
To make pistoleers competitive in in pvp I would like to see the following.
1. Helmets be ar2 and ar3. We die like dogs to people who not only can shoot the mind pool but thier weapons are AR1 and ignore our helments.
2. A attack that causses dizzy. BH get knockdown, dizzy, set you on fire and cause big wounds in ONE attack, ONE SHOT. I would like to see us just have dizzy attached to a attack.( maybe stopping shot?)
3. Disarm shot cause intimidate and damage( I think this may be in the works, crossing fingers)
4. Health shot 3 or a massive boost to health shot 2. I would rather see a health shot 3 implemented. For reasons already posted we dont get enough damage from bleeding attacks. Someone puts a mind bleed on me for 400 dmg, I am done for. I would like to at least be able to bleed with similar effectiveness to thier easy to heal health pool.
5. Increase defensive effectiveness - this has been covered and is in the works. I do see people that are non pistoleers dodging though. Did dodge get implemented to EVERY character like the republic blaster cert did?
6. Make DX2 a functional pistol or give us one that is( republic blaster?) or give us an upgrade to fwg5 so we have heat damage that is ar1. (pistoleer only? maybe master?)
7. Improve defensive bonuses for running and for being prone. Give people reasons to use posture. Make posture important.
8. stop bitching at the BH.. (oh wrong thread)![]()
Anyway, these changes would make us a viable profession to compete in the GCW, without making us overpowerfull. I think that the best pistoleer stuff should be at the top of trees to prevent cross classes from making better templates or dabbleers from being as powerfull as a master pistoleer.

No they don't, get a composite helm, they absorb the damage according to the resist. I take LESS then 1/2 damage from eyeshots.

I'd like that too, but we're picking our fights. BHs spend more points to get dizzy, carbines are slower, higher ham, lower accuracy, but get higher dps, and better state effects. Balancing act maybe. Dizzy will not be the win-all it currently is, at some point, is my guess. You can also afford to load up on dizzy resist, BHs have a much more difficult time loading up on defense.

Yes, I like this, we're pushing for it (fingers crossed as well)

Maybe a third bleed is another good idea. how about, body shot 3 improved damage + bleed3, which is really just so that it stacks with HS2/HS1? Good idea, lets throw this around. Bleed however, overall IMO, is low priority. Fights dont often go on for >20s with the way speed works and commandos/BHs work in this game.

Yes, depends on what weapon you use. I dont know the #s though, someone should test this if they can if they dont yet have dodge
I counterattack with a rifle just having it equipped (no rifleman skill)

Republic we should get some word on, hopefully we will have this new AR1 energy pistol.

I'm an accuracy noob, I listen to Noules and Yeti and such on those issues
Posture changes DO boost your chances to both hit, and be missed, in any case.

hehe. Yeah, what's with all the BHS saying we got them nerfed and want nerfs? Who's doing all that negative stuff?? Arggh..
I agree with everything Jaegen said. My two cents:
1) I think we should push to get Dizzy added to StoppingShot. Or at least Stun. Why not? It's supposed to be a really nasty attack, and we don't have a single state change now.
2) I _strongly_ am in favor of getting us a third bleed. I've suggested, on numerous occasions, that they make MultiTarget an AOE BodyShot3 + Bleed. Right now bleeds are the #1 weapon in PvE and ours are the weakest. Having a third to stack would be very useful in that context.

I have a helm that is acid resist. Because BH use scatter pistols thier AR1 value cancels my light armor. The only resist I get is from the % listed on the resist. So if I have a light armor helm with 25% resist and a BH hits me with eye shot for 400 I will take 300 points damage.Riflemen with AR3 value T21's hit for far worse but I rarely see them in pvp.
With my helmet on a BH can spam eye shot and I die in 3-4 shots (read 3 or 4 seconds). I am also a doctor so me wearing a 75% resist compostite helm takes a terrbile toll on my mind stats. (not to mention I can't find one)

Dashai ... try hunting some Krayt Dragons for segments, and have your armorsmith use those in your helmet. That should help both encumbrance and resists for you. ![]()
True that may be a solution, BUT...
The mind pool was never intended to be the DEFINING factor in combat.
Currently, thats how it is.
My ar2 helment is a suggestion to fix that...or lesson that.

Well remember we draw fighting from other skill
for example i live in PVP cuz im Doctor/Pistoleer.
Having Pistoleer alone should not make you awesome in PVP IMO..
Im fine without a ranged KD.. I think we can have a KD and Dizzy in our melee arsenal though.
AR2 helmet is a no. we cant gimp Rifleman just because BH can shoot mind every 1 second and soon every .5

Currently carbineers can hit for 1400 + in one bleed attack and rifleman for more. They both have 2 that stack like ours. We are capped because our guns do not hit as hard as thiers.
So what if I put 1k of bleed on you in 1.5 seconds. In 1.5 seconds a BH will have killed me with eye shot.

Wearing a acid resist helm I have been eyeshotted for 350 damage.
x 3 thats bigger than my mind pool.
I don't know how you can even compare an extra bleed to eye shot... not even in the same universe.

Scatter pistols are ar1. The only protection you get is the % of resist your helm has above that.
Yup even as a doc with 1k mind depending on Damage done can be anywhere from 150-320ish
I still get raped b4 they even close to dead..
Still think BH should take 255 skill points
