Well, I know this topic is dead, beaten, cut apart, and then used again, but I want a chanse to complain too. The DX2 is the highest gun that you can get as a pistoleer... and you get it at novice... hmmm. Well, anyway, I know for a fact the the FWG5 pistol can (when sliced) become as powerful as 160-250. The DX2, is made well and sliced can reach maybe 180. Hmmm. And you need to be within 7m of your target to use it. Hmmm.I don't know about anyone else, but with a trusty DX2 by my side (and it can't be "at my side since they haven't progremmed holesters yet...),I think I'd be fair game for a kid with a super soaker full of vinigar.

but, but, but, it does acid damage

DX2 is very hammy hungry as well..........

I dunno guys, there just ain't much imagination being put into these futuristic Pistols from a highly advanced civilization.

Master Pistoleer and all you have to show for it is a DX2?

How about them Republican Blasters? Oh yeah, they don't work...............for anyone..

I just got a DX2 from a master weaponsmith with a dmg range of 106-166, unsliced. He had some very nice resources, but didn't use any krayt parts or anything.

Shooting at 50+ meters, with 1 box of pistol marksmanship, I seem to hit about 50% of the time. So I'll admit it has crap for accuracy, but you can still hit with it.

Yes the art for pistoleer weapons do look like toyguns. Bounty Hunters and commandos have cool looking ones. The scatter pistol is a pistol you can actually see and shoots multiples rays of energy. I've not seen the launcher pistol in action but it sure does look sweet.

The DX2 doesn't have a high HAM cost, at least mine doesn't. It's comparable to a FWG5. That's a crude estimation based on my impression not on actual stats. What I do know is that I use the same number of special moves with a DX2 as I do with a FWG5.

The DX2's most noticeable deficiency is its accuracy. From point blank range to about 7-8m out, you gain an accuracy bonus for using the DX2. Beyond 8m, you suffer a penalty unless you kneel. Beyond 28m or so, I'll notice a large number of misses while shooting.

While DX2 is the pistoleer's exclusive domain, this may not hold true in the future.

Here's to more pistols for those who choosepistoleer as a profession and pistol art that makes you glad to be a master pistoleer. I'm looking forward to these changes and hopefully changes/fixes to pistol specials.

So, I was on Lok tonight. After the plague that wiped out the snorbals, I decided to get a group together and hunt mynocks. I think to myself, "They're just mynocks. How hard can they be?" I remember examining one mynock earlier and noting they were vulnerable to acid. Again I think to myself, "That's great! I finally found a use for my DX2!" We arrive at the first mission and start systematically killing the little buggers. When all of a sudden the Mynock Armada arrives! We're being swarmed by mynocks and the last thing I hear is someone shouting, "They have 100% resist to heat and acid!"

Just another lovely experience I've had being a pistoleer. And being a pistoleer means I'm only carrying the two pistols that are worth a crap (supposedly), the FWG5 and a DX2. Useless! I'm so freaking useless!

dnewbie, is your gun using krayt parts or something? That's the only way I can explain the damage, even powered up and sliced.

Regarding my gun, I'm on Bria, and paid 50k for it. then I found another smith with near identical stats charging 20k.

My gun is using krayt parts. I killed a few krayts to get enough tissues for it. You need 5.

ok first of all i love my DX2 .. i love usin it to kill Pubams on Endor .. good xp and good money for killin those little buggers .. second of all everyone seems to miss what the advantages are to using some of the pistols .. DX2 - acid damage and armor piercing .. SR Combat - energy and armor piercing .. FWG5 - heat damage and no armor piercing .. scout - energy and no armor piercing .. the power5 im not sure if any armor piercing .. but if you carry a DX2 . FWG5 . and a SR Combat in your toolbar .. you should have a weapon for any needs .. but i will agree i think we missed the boat when it came to weapon design and creativity

Vamp .. Flurry .. Ch 4/4/1/4 .. Novice Gunfighter .. 3/4/4/3

Okay, somebody Explain to me please how Kryat Parts make pistols better? Or should I be reading the weaponsmith forum?

My DX2 (bought on Lowca from Ace) does 83-232dmg 2.2 Unsliced, 1.7 Sliced. Since most things don't have acid resistance and for the most part are not armoured, the pistol works great.

Krayts have loot. krayt tissue can be incorporated into blaster power handlers as an enhancement, making them more uber.

You can sell/give these tissues to a weaponsmith, thus making more uber weapons.
