Thread: Disarm shot?
What does it do? I have noticed bad dam and not disarming.. Sigh.
Heh uhh.. Not worth it i shoulda taken The smuggler combat tree sigh.
Heh, this is one of the shots that puzzles me, what's it do other then damage the other persons weapon? To be honest, i have never used this attack and being a 2/2/4/2 pistoleer i've had it for some time.
I have an idea for it which my other guild members think is a good idea:
Simply make disarm shot actually disarm the oponent. They have a CHANCE of getting their weapon unequipped. Therefor they have to either use the tool menu to select it again or go in the inventory and select it. Ofcourse, give it a 30sec-60sec but if you do this then the attack would:
A) Live up to it's name
B) No longer grief.
The reason i say it griefs is because it damages a person's weapon and in my opinion, and im sure many others, this should be considered griefing. Post ideas on what you think ![]()
Good idea ... there are lots of ideas floating around for Disarm1 and 2, and we've passed them along to the Devs. Read the sticky posts at the top of the forum, and take a look at some of the Pistoleer posts on Dev Tracker.
I think the idea that got the most support was making Disarm a ranged Intimidate.
Disarming Shot however doubles dmg vs lairs (yeah, very important...can't resist wasting my HAM pools to shot a lair quickly, really).
Yep, Disarming Shot should simply...disarm ooponent. But it doesn't.
Why ?
Because it would be "overpowered". you can laugh, I think it is funny too.
Figure : A guy is hitting you from a distance you can even dream of for 5 times your pool if you don't move. It will be his next shot and since game is totally unbalanced, he will be able to shoot once per second. Yes, like your 40 dmg shot.
here, someone comes and tells you you had once a move to disarm your opponent but you opponent being a retarded kid, he didn't even mention he was trying to Eye Shot you with empty hands so you killed him.
THIS IS DONE, YOU ARE OVERPOWERED !
The simple fact someone can change your attack weapon state, you are OVERPOWERED. Of course, you could argue you are hitting for a fraction of what his shot makes if he MISSES or that he is able to fire as fast with his Portative Death Star than you with your Water Toy but NO, being able to just force someone to put his weapon back in his hand would be overpowered.
For sure it should give us a real thing to try when murdered but we are meant to be moving target, not to defend ourselves.
So basically making someone think for themself is considered over powered?
*sigh*
This shot is pretty useless, i'd say replace it with a ranged KD or a dizzy?

i agree, make the skill do what is says
I always thought that's what it would do and it did influence my decision to go pistoleer a little bit. I think ti'd be cool if someone could knock the gun out of someone's hand. It shouldn't happen ALL the time, but depending on your accuracy and distance, I see it as a viable attack. Perhaps limit it on a timer the same way knockdowns and suppressive fire work.
I just love to see someone try to take a shot at me from 20m and they end up throwing a punch. LOL
So it still does x2 damage to lairs, but are you saying that it's not worth the HAM cost to use it?
