I have been a pistoleer for quite a long time and ive never used it cause imo it blows in comparison to even fuggin FWG5's and every other pistol out there. WHATS UP WITH THAT!?

i seem to do more with an FWG5 than my DX2 in pvp which is why i quit using the DX2 after about the first week of being able to use 1. its sad when marksman can use weapons that are better than a professional weapon. all professional weapons should be 10 times better than class weapons not the other way around.

I use my DX2 a lot, especially on Dantooine and Dath when a lot of creatres aren't protected too high against it.

I have one non-krayt sliced 120(something)-199. Add a good 32% powerup muzzle and you got a rocking pistol that does acid damage.

I can't want until some good metal for tangle pistol which does armor piercing.

If there sporting composite im gonna bust out DX2,... that FW will have 50% damage taken off the top then whatever resist they have applied to the rest..

When FW hit my helm i take off usauly 70% of the overall damage

I don't pvp.

For pve the DX2 is the best weapon for the situation far more than any other weapon. Endor, Dathomir, Dantooine - any of the planets with mobs tough enough for the resists to matter.

I've tried to figure out if the AP is worth it to use against composite, I'm still not sure. Need to test it on a friend I guess...

I use my DX2 alot, I'm into PVE only though. Mobs tend to be vulnerable to Acid, Heat, or Energy (rare case I may use a Tangle pistol for stun...very rare instances).

DX2 135-205dmg @ 2.0spd for Acid dmg = I like the 1200-1400dmg every shot, majority of stuff I fight is vulnerable or low resist to acid. High ham costs but the dependable dmg output is quite nice.

Scout Blaster 102-202dmg @ 1.5spd for Energy dmg = solid 900-1200dmg, fast with specials, low ham cost...downside is everything seems to be resistant to energy dmg. There aresomemobs with low resists or even vulnerable to energy though.

FWG5 80-285dmg @ 1.8spd for Heat dmg = my "wild" shooter 500-1800dmg, its dmg output is all over the place...sometimes good...sometimes bad. Ham cost decent, fast - I just don't like the base dmg. Certainly alot of Heat vulnerable mobs out there. IMO this is the PVP pistol, with composite wearing players (and Armor piercing fubar) these do well. I should get a better one, seen some nice krayt ones for 90-100 - 350-400dmg at 1.2 to 1.8 spd (kinda insane dmg).

So there ya have it, DX2 sucky for PVP, good for PVE. I suppose though with a Armor piercing 25% bonus and increasing Pistoleer +speed mods up would make DX2s pretty good for PVP. PVE dmg type is very important depending on mobs you fight, PVP is biggest dmg possible since all dmg types are resisted pretty much equally (to bad no krayt tissue Tangle pistols, heh would prob suck anyways)

*Note - my pistols are sliced and some made with Krayt tissue, numbers off the top o my head. I'm not into calculating squat, Just know what works for me and the numbers I see "floating" over mobs head. I also spam PBA2 mostly (MCH so I like being near my pets/fight).

I used to use a DX2 a lot, but Scout Blasters generally have better damage-per-secondstats, so I thinkthey're bestfor general purpose shooting. I still keep a nice DX2 around though - you never know when you'll need the acid damage.

I carry a DX2, FWG5, and Scout on me at all times. I'd carry a tangle but they suck. 103 max damage was the best a weaponsmith on sunrunner could get, with good metal. It is all about resist. You want to use a FWG5 all the time, go find something with 80% heat resist and 0 acid and tell me if you still want to use the FWG5 over the DX2. Which is another reason scatter is a good pistol. MOST stuff in the game will have some heat/energy resists, but no acid.

Im using my DX2 in PvE, when the resist on the mobs are good for it ie. Endor 'n' Dathomir. Would still prefer a FWG5, but acid dam. with AP is great in PvE and PvP.
