Thread: Health Shot exploit/bug!
I'm a novice fencer, pistol IV and started working on unarmed to be a smuggler. When I started working on unarmed I disided to use health shot 1 and then switch to unarmed mod. I soon noticed that even though health shot 1 was doing just as much damage if not more I was getting all unarmed XP and no pistol XP. Which although may be helping me get though unarmed, I'm not getting any closer to being a novice pistoleer.
Is this a known bug or exploit?
And when has a method of killing stuff and getting no XP an exploit? =)
Maybe since it allows you to deal a huge chunk of damage with your pistol's bleed (or carbine or rifle or anything witha bleedshot for that matters), and getting all the xp in another category.
My favorite is to kite and bleed a big mob almost dry, throw a grenade anytime during the bleed, let the mob bleed to death, and enjoy my huge combat xp (bleeding/grenading a 5K xp mob is 5500 Combat xp, including the regular 10%. Nice way to get on with that combat tree).
Works very well with unarmed as well.
It didn't occured to you, because it doesn't happen.
All xp is still distributed, but with regards to the chunk of life not bleeded.
Example :
A 10K Ham mob worth 5K xp (keeps numbers simple). You bleed it for 9500 damage. You shot for 400 damage, and a friend of yours deals 100. 5K Xp is divided between 500 damage dealt (bleed is not considered dealt). You dealt 400/500 = 80% of dealt damage, and your friend the remaining 20%.
You get 80% of 5K = 4K Xp, your friend gets 1K.
Well I tested it and Iwas right, this is a flaw in the system. If you kill with just bleeds then the XP is gone, and if any damage even just 1 point, that weapon skill will get 100% of the XP.
I'm sorry if you like this but I feel this needs to be Fixed.

B: bleed 1 and 2 and Feign Death
both of these used to get newbsfull xp without the risk of incap or death
you are all crying nerf... its been like this since day one, and it works just fine, leave it as it is until they fix the other problems...

The smart ones feign death before bleeding. It's a smuggler thing. You people wouldn't understand.

So how would
A: bleed 1 and 2, hit onceand burst run away and peace
B: bleed 1 and 2, hit onceand Feign Death
be less of an exploit? (not that I think any of the two are exploits)
I really have no problem with using bleed, Ijust feel that if the pistol bleed does 99% of the damage and say TKA does 1% then pistol should get 99% of the XP and TKA should not get 100%.
