Okay I've hit something of a very large problem with JTL. Right now, I'm 2322 Imperial Navy Pilot. I should be 3322, because I have over 200,000 xp. However, past 2222 is all mission-based skill training. This doesn't make sense to me. I can't do very well on these Tier 3 missions without a better ship, but to geta better ship I need to train, and to train I need to complete the mission! Why does it say "You now qualitfy for Imperial Technology III/ Astromech III/ Imperial Training III when I really don't? I assumed it was alternative, 200k xp or the mission. In CTRL+S it shouldn't say "This skill requires 200,000 Starship Combat Experience" when it requires 0. Is there something I'm missing here? I'm doing Black Epsilon, and when I talk to my current trainer, he only gives me a mission. Can anyone help meout here?

I understand where you are man, I was there as well...

The best possible thing is to get decent pilot from a guild to help you with your mission, or try and group together to

complete that mission...

And just think about it... all that XP you are gaining you can put towards the 1 Million needed for Tier 4...

Yes, tier 3skills are mission based. You will need to complete them before you can be trained. As for requiring better ship to complete the mission, that is not the only way, or the best way. You will need to find other people to group with to complete the more difficult missions, as even with the best ship, they will be very difficult to do alone. JTL has a much higher emphasis on grouping and cooperative play than the ground game. Start making some friends that fly Imp, and lots of them.

Forced Grouping is evil.

I will not allow any game to force me to group.

Reason is that my play is subject to unpredictable interruptions and I have to bail without notice. Hence, grouping is not an option.

Character on one account is almos to the third tier.

Glad I learned that higher tiers required grouping to advance. Save me wasting time and money.

So JtL is only playable thru completion of tier two. good and helpful info.
