Jump To Lightspeed Archive

I keep getting this mission to find a hutt smuggler and steal data from their computer. I never get a wp for space, and when i do see the VERY RARE smuggler, i can;t hit it or disable it, or anything. What am i doing wrong or is anyone else having this problem too?
