Thread: Corvette + hyperdrive = BS

You know, it's bad enough that the Corvette is hard to kill. And it's bad that it requires an army. It's also bad that it's in a PvP zone and spawns once per hour... but come on... what's the deal with the hyperdrive?
It seems that every time we get one low it decides to hyper out of the darn system.
To add insult to injury we actually did blow up the vette in our first of three attempts to far, but no one got any credit for the kill.

This is BS... we did our 4th try with a large army, and it hypered away again... that's 3 of them now to hyper right when its getting ready to blow up.

Yep...We had our corvette seriously damaged with no escorts and it hypered out. There needs to be more time and it needs to spawn a little more often so you don't spend 20min looking for it and have the damn thing hyper out 10mins later.

well consider having 4 ppl camp it all day every day, ive been trying for 3 days to blow it up

Heaven forbid the devs don't want everyone to be able to get an easy master pilot level...
Hell, I wish there were things these difficult for the Master levels of all classes.

It's not about being easy. It's about being pointless. We bring in a larger and larger army each time and it's about when it's getting low that it runs away.
Once combat with the ship starts, it should not be able to hyper... as simple as that.
In our last run, we had griefers hiding under it waiting for us. We dispatched them, dispatched the fighters, took care of 1 of the 2 gunships, crippled the corvette, then it all ended... just like that.
This is the 4th time we did the vette. The first time we killed it and no one completed their mission. The 3 times after that it hypered out.
I don't see how it would kill the devs to at the least let it stay there until it's destroyed... geeze.
This is silly is what it is.

Meh, I am not going to keep trying to explain about getting that Master box marked.
Suffice to say if they cnaged the rules in the whole game that only 5 players per server could get a master in a class, I would be much much happier.

Can't you disable the engine? ... havn't tried this myself so I don't know

Unfortunatelty, the vette has no targetable engine or reactor.

This has been working for me when taking out the corvette, use your bstrike2(or 3 if you have master friends) on the corvette only, then take care of the escort cover by pulling them away and destroying them, next head back to the corvette, target the weapons then shield,secondary shieldthen the rest of the subsystems will start opening up, leave the gunboats alone, if you do not attack them they will be to busy fighting the bstrike NPC's to notice you, usually.
the subsystems are based in different parts of the ship so when you initiate your strafing runs just don't shoot anywhere, you sometimes gotta be really precise especially with the secondary shield and bridge.
