Can anyone tell me how I can have the joystick programmed to work for jtl?? I know how to make it so that it works for games, so far I did it successfully for Battlefield 1942, but I duno how to have it work on Galaxies. AND when I 1st turned on the program that lets me choose the commands for the joystick's buttons, it did not scan Galaxies when it was scanning for games....HELP??
Off topic: Anyone wanna donate me 5k creds?

I use this same joystick. Just plug it in start up SWG. Get in space.
Go to options. Controls. Then key map and you set it up that way.

Oh yea I have tried that too, but for some reason if I set up (example) "Pitch up/down" to "Axis w/e" (Forgot what the exact word was), then a message will pop up saying something about this key cannot bind to this command or w/e...am I missing something here? Full scan did nothing
EDIT: That message pops for other commands too....

You gotta be kidding me
Ok well even if they are binded like that, the joystick doesn't work (Although I know that the joystick is detected in the system)......this would be the last question for this thread

Whoops forgot to state my question
:
How do I get my joystick to be able to work with jtl? Is there an option or something that needs to be enabled/disabled before I can use it or something?

Profiler is useless in this case as it does not recognize JTL as a possible game to "profile".
You need to go to options and rebind the controls. Just remember that after each command you rebind, press "Apply". I spent about 1 hour reconfiguring the controls on the same stick and I can tell you it workd wonderfully.
The only thing I that is that I can't rebind the HAT. The game looks at it as just one button. In Freespace 1/2, I was able to bind each direction to different control (in this case, targeting. N - hostile, NW - bomb/bomber, W - escort etc...). Kinda sucks there.

I'm sure somone has brought the fact that SWG does not show up in the profiler to Logitecs attention by now. So in the next few weeks I'd keep an eye on their download part of their site.

old thread i know but gotta ask.
anyone else having sensitivity probs with their joystick.
I have mine set so that yaw =rotate and roll=well, roll
that default way they had it set jsut didnt work for me.
Now, with the endless circling that most fights tend to be....i find my self in a spiral inside a targets turn, having to yaw and climb/dive at the sme time to keep the line. NP with that. My problem is that while doing it the controls are sensitive as hell. If i turn DOWN the sensitivity, my response turns to nil and i cant hold the target. The over sensitive controls make holding that turn in line with the target or green lead indicator, somewhat difficult...if not impossible for the maneveurable lighter ship targets (TIE/in, z95 etc)
Im talking tier 4 and above targets btw. the lighter tiers dont hold up even with a few shots.
The reason this is such a concern for me is that with the limits of capacitors (mines an 870 charge, 40.2 recharge) and the heavy guns i can mount firing wildly is not advisable in a real good furball with a bunch of tier 4 ties. Add on that my engine is a 90.4 with great y,p,r rates.....i have a ship thats squirrely in any kind of turn, when i really cant afford for it to be.
phew, i guess most of that comes down to just deal with it, and i found what i really wanted to know, that the profiler will NOT work for JTL.....that blows. anyway, knowing that perhaps some others are having similar jumpy ships might make me feel better
I guess i could jsut downgrade back to the YWlp and see what happens.
PS Please fix my full scan at every game login.
