Depends on how many exploits you use. There are some people in game that just love stacking droid commands to make their engines godly, making their opressors more maneurverable than A-Wings. But without such 'sploiters, the Interceptor is by far the most agile thing we have, but only 30k mass... now that may not matter too much in PvP, because speed is everything, as everything dies in 2-3 shots. The bomber and agressor are slow as heck, but have loads of mass. So they're preferable if you're going to be blowing up capital ships, like in Deep Space. The Opressor is basicaly an Agressor, slightly faster but no turret, just 2 guns. The Decimator has LOADS of mass, and 2 manable turrets, but with PvP as it is now, it's too slow (unless you like to 'sploit). The Advanced Tie is IMO the cream of the crop if you're not going to use every bug in the game to your advantage. It's on par with the A-wing when it comes to turning and speed, has 2 weapons, and 65k mass. I am very happy with my Advanced Tie, and wouldn't trade it for anything in the game. I have decently heavy hitting weapons for big PvE, and I'm as agile as anything else out there in PvP. My shields and armor are severely lacking though, but that's how I've set my ship up. Speed>Protection, gotta know when to pull out, that's all. :-P

Light Duty/Regular/IN Tie Fighters: all basically the same except for a minor decrease in maneuverability at a minor increase in mass. Given the low mass of these ships, these would be best if used in a large group of them where firepower could be sacraficed for speed. A full group of 20 of these could be very deadly. Alone, you will likely leave them behind once you can get better ships.

Tie Interceptor: a very fast and manueverable ship but with limited mass. A definite improvement over regular tie fighters.

Tie Bomber: A flying turret. Best used only for certain situations(like against capital ships) or in a group of regular fighters.

Tie Advanced: A little less manueverability than an interceptor but a nice increase in mass. This is probably the "light" fighter of choice for Imperials.

Tie Aggressor: A good mixed fighter with decent mass. Only really useful if you have a second player as gunner, but a good ship and excellent in groups.

Tie Oppressor: The medium/heavy fighter of choice for Imperials. Probably the best mass to manueverability ship in the game with the possible exception of the X-wing. A good choice if you lean towards or need a lot of firepower.

Decimator: Like all multi-passenger ships, you really need a good group/crew to use these effectively and while very good in PvE, you will want escorts in PvP otherwise you are just a big target.

Hope that helps Really all the tier 4 and master ships are *the* ships of choice for imperials with the interceptor and bomber only being good for specific circumstances.
