Hmm, the only time I've had ships not able to be shot was because they were either friendly, or someone else's mission. Were any other players in the area? Was the freighter and its escorts already there, or did you have to wait at the nav point for them to arrive?

I do not have the answers, just more questions. Last night, this mission flew swimmingly for me, completed it first try. And the only difference in the setup that I can see is that I do not have 200k in the bank, and that I am a covert Rebel. Other factions are similarly aligned.

PIlot Category: Freelance

Pilot Affiliation, Neutral, Imperial Covert

Pilot Experience: 2/2/2/2 with 200K Banked experience

Pilot Requirements: To achieve Level 3/3/3/3, complete first mission offered by Jabba's Privateer Trainer

Situation: After dialogue, mission granted, pilot arrives at system, unable to engage mission elements

Result: Mission Failure, not able to advance beyond 2/2/2/2 Freelance with 200K banked xp

Details: Upon arrival into the Yavin System, mission elements consisting of 1 Freighter and 3 escorts enter the sector and a waypoint is given to the target; the freighter that is to be disabled by targeting the engines and reactor.

The escorts all con white to the player with an orange target box around the freighter. Upon attacking the freighter, the escorts, Kimogila Tier 3, con red but can not be damaged by the player or the player take damage from the escorts. The Freighter can be disabled successfully and the mission proceed as normal with Jabba personnel capturing the freighter and then positioning it to the hyperspace jump point.

Approximately 3 additional intercepts are to arrive and take back the freighter. They all con white with a total of 6 enemy aircraft conning red and white but unattackable. To complete the mission, the intercepts are to be destroyed but, since they con white and are unattackable, they hyperspace out and the mission fails.

Very interesting mission with much depth, I attribute that quality to the mission designers, very nice and causes me to desire more and proceed beyond 2/2/2/2 Freelance.

Results: Mission will fail every time. I have verified my character is not the cause, has free space for waypoints, is not aligned factionally in a manner that hinders the mission, has enough negative Valarian faction (-5000 in fact), has hyperspaced to all three sectors of yavin to make sure the mission is truly not doable, etc.

Solution: The mission appears to spawn for the player as a failed mission another pilot could not complete. This is a higly likely explanation since red conning fighters can not be damaged and that is experienced when a player spawns a mission only for the one taking it.

I was out in my Black Sun Light Fighter Kihraxz this afternoon as a Neutral aligned, Freelance pilot. I had recently completed Jabba's Themepark and received the first mission from Jabba's Privateer Pilot Trainer.

Previously, I was working for Lady Valarian out of the Lucky Despot. I was told by the Valarian Privateer Pilot Trainer that the Hutts wanted me working for them and, thus, I received my first mission from Jabba.

However, I could not complete that first mission and understand why. My character is not Jabba or Hutt aligned and is still working for the Valarians. I had recently engaged a light Syck Hutt fighter and destroyed it. THat should not have happened. My character does have negative Hutt, positive Jabba, and negative Valarian.

I do not understand how my character was not realigned to Jabba after I agreed to work for him. I am very much enjoying JTL and desire more than ever to advance to Master Freelance Pilot, Jabba the Hutt employed.

Please fix the Freelance Pilot Profession on Tattoine.

I have this exact same problem, Its ridiculous, Disabliling the ship is all fine and dandy but there is no way to kill the escort ships because it game just wont allow it, its like you are shooting a ship from another players mission. There are a few posts on this but I dont think anyone has said how they got around it or if they ever did.

I had the same problem ...

Solution : ask one or two friends to help you (2 rebs helped me) u'll stay as a spectator and they will do the mission for you

My turn :

I have a problem at the 4th mission (tier3 smugg alliance) i have to protect hutt fighters and to kill rancor clan fighter, but when i come at the wp, the hutts attack me and not the rancors , if i kill all the hutts, mission fails, and it's impossible to manage 8 hutt bombers and 1 YT-1300 (tier 4-5)

I send a ticket for the problem of the first mission and never received an answer, so i demand here to csr's if they can do somethings to debug these missions, privateers don't seem to be help in their missions

I'm covert reb and the mission worked out fine for me. It sounds like the bug is in the Imperial faction alignment. That must suck.

This is no Joke. I am having the exact same problem. I am also a covert Rebel so I really don't think that's it. Anyone have a fix for this?

This is a known issue that happens if you drop one of the tier 2 missions...you get your faction all messed up.

send in a ticket and I think they can reset you.

It is in the patch notes....
