Okay, for some reason this is tomorrows or an upcoming hotfix...

*****Hotfix*****

We have now changed Kessel’s rule set and removed it from being a full PVP zone. In order to PVP in Kessel you will have to visit a faction station in a near by zone and declare.

The above is what I just found on the dev tracker.

Okay, now I haven't been into the Kessel system in beta or in live, but isn't the whole point to defend or attack a PvE target but be opened to getting destroyed by other players. That is the whole challenge of the thing right? Maybe I have my situations confused but isn't the removal of this, like removing the whole point of the system. I am all for space based PvP, all for getting guild wars to work in space, and was kinda happy that they made a PvP enhanced space area(zones). I don't understand why they are removing it, it seems both counter productive and counter intuitive.

Another challenge removed from the game yay!

Uhm.. no.. they changed it because in order to master you had to go to the Kessel system. I do not like PVP and did not want to have to fight players to do my mission so I can fly my YT.

2. You already had the griefers lined up and were attacking ships that were loading to the point you were dead before the screen finished loading.

3. you guys still have the Deep Space Zone for PVP, so whats the problem?

Did I not say I had no experience with the Zone nor knew its purpose beyond theory. I thought it was for PvP'ing mission based style. The deep space zone is a PvP zone but isn't it only player chars like there isn't anything to defend or attack npc wise.

Then why dont you, and the rest of your PvPing buds, make a petition to add NPC ships in deep space and leave us PvEer's alone.

You have to go to kessel to get master.

You have to be master to get into deep space.

There are npc fighters, basesand capital ships(Star Destroyers) for the PvP'ers to attack/defend.

Alright Mr PvE person. You won during development and the devs made only 2 zones for PvP. Now you're going all hot because somone finds it counterproductive that they are removing all but 1 PvP zone. The one where the challenge was to destroy a ship while fending off player enemies. I am really annoyed with the blindness on these boards so maybe you should zip it. So instead of flaming maybe you could stop and think that maybe getting the master box is hard for a reason. Maybe it's suppose to be hard. Maybe you're not suppose to grind through it in 2 days. Maybe you should group with friends. Maybe you could ask for a no attack time for about 30 seconds after hyperspace so you don't get ganked. Maybe you should just think before flaming.

Maybe on your server, but that is a VERY EXAGERATED PROBLEM.

Deep space isnot an acceptable excuse, it is non inclusive to neutrals, laggy, master only...... It is everything kessel is not. That sir, is the problem.

sigh....here we go AGAIN

it wasn't about difficulty AT ALL. It was about a PvE mission in a PvP zone. Im not going to argue since it's pointless, but i think they are making Kessel PvE only for awhile until they code a better plan for the master mission. It wasn't a problem for all the masters since they didn't have many people in the zone to worry about, but its only getting worse as more and more people have been going there and you can't do the mission (to attack fighters that are NPC's, 30 of them, PvP doesn't count) and if you die you have to start over. Too many people have been getting close to finishing and then getting Player killed. Its impossible to do the missions right now. Oh and btw...i was grouped everytime and my whole group has been 1 shot killed 13 times now.....

So it was just about PvE'ers being forced to PvP which wasn't the intent of the mission.

There is no basis that the master mission being in Kessel FOR PvP. The mission doesn't require PvP it was purley an environmental point that broke with consensual PvP promised to us all from the beginning to, you dont seem to argue that initially PvP was forced on you but are quick to jump on PvP being removed.

I am fighting for both, I hate PvP and am glad they are working out the PvP for mastering pilot, but hope they get Kessel back to PvP soon so you all PvPers have a place to go.

yet you've never posted advocating moving the yt out of the master box? or did i miss all the threads you participated in about that? however you will support taking a pvp zone away from players?

You hit the nail on the head there. There are tons of people who enjoy this game without once having to go against another player because they are given a choice. Going to Kessel is not a choice if you want to master pilot. Some people are very happy with destroying mobs and not people. They are not prepared to face another player it is not what they want to do and for the most part do not have the skills to do so.They want to group with their friends and not have to worry about outside interference preventing them from finishing their mission.

Like it or not there are two parts to this game PvE and PvP some people like a mix and some people like one or the other. This is just the way it is. The largest part of this game is PvE like it or not. To master any profession you have to kill endless amounts of mobs and then you can go out and PvP to your hearts content. You can try to PvP before you master a profession but you will find it frustrating.

Sorry for the ramble at the end but that is my opinion.

Sweet. Now if they could just fix the broken imp corvette (rebel mission) spawn I could actually have a chance to master!
