I've had my account since the 2nd week SWG went online. Over that time I've probably averaged about 5 hours/week with multi-week hiatuses. A casual player by any definition. In that time though I have managed to master Artisan and 4/4/4/4 Arch. I haven't pursued riches but I've managed to accumulate 1.3 mil in the bank anda whole bag full of various heavy harvs and house deeds all made by myself. I'm "getting by" you could say.
Anyway tonight I lost 310 crated structural modules that I waited many hours for and at a significant cost to me as a casual soloer. Lost to the container transfer bug. I unloaded them from the factory, went into my house, transfered them to an armoire, went back out for a couple of mins to check on some harvs, went back in, got ready to grind some walls for a fleet of nuke plantsI've been preparing to make and boom. They were gone. Nobody stole them, nobody has perms to my house, they just disappeared. This isn't the first time this has happened to me. I lost 75k alum and about 30k really good steel a few months ago to the same bug.
Now these are not big losses in the big scheme of things. Painful but recoverable. But for the first time tonight I had the thought, why do I even bother? I mean when a game, which is supposed to provide entertainment, becomes a huge hassle as you lose major junks of personal time and effort then why bother continuing with it? You'd almost be stupid to keep doing it, no?
There are some other big releases around the corner, EQ2, WoW, etc. I even still have my 7 yr old UO acct (LOL!). I greatly anticipated JTL and I thinkit has some neat aspects to it but as it turns out it really doesn't have much for me personally. After killing a few hundred AIs and running a few dozen missionsouter space is kind of a boring place to be now actually. My pre-release dream was to ultimately solo a YT-1300 (you know, like Solo did before he picked up the wook) but I don't have the time to ace piloting (which I still think is a silly requirement)andthe ship iskind of a disappointment anyway. About the only thing I've gotten out of JTL is it's easier to sell steel now. Eh.
So I ask you, my old friends, what should I do? Should I stay in thisuniverse or finally bid ado? I'm really on the fence about it now and can go either way. And don't tell me I should go thinking I'm going to give you all my stuff. I'm looking foran honest and sincere answer and I will takewhatever you sayto heart. The future of mymaster homemakeris literally at your fingertips.
Thank you and good night,

well it all comes down to what you feel is the right path to persue. Like you I too have been here from the start,I tried artisan but couldn't cut it so I went the path of BH. It was a long grind but in the end i had the satisfaction of completing the one proffession i always wanted in star wars(not because of Boba or to hunt jedi, to this date I've never hunted a jedi.) After a couple months of being a BH with no sp to use since it was in CH(which i still enjoy) I went and played other mmorpg's. It came down to it that I beta tested Lineage 2 and City of Heroes. I ended up playing 3 mmorpgs at one time, it was insane and little by little i played less of swg. After a while the other two lost their once new feeling with horrible grindings far worse than any swg proff( even the new FS way) So i ended up cancelling and returning back to the game that I enjoyed. Now thats not to say I haven't had my fair share of problem, found out my friend used my account and surrended me all the way back to novie marksman..... so shrugged it off and restarted working back up to BH.
Jtls has brought me alot of awsome content and such. I'm working on Privateer and will want to fly the yt-1300. Maybe by then things will have changed but who knows, just have to give time to the devs to work their bugs and issues out. So what I'm saying is that I'm here to stay, never going to give up my character or quite. But thats me. Hopefully you will stay with swg but thats not my desicion. Good luck with you choice hopefully it will be for the best!
