No one seems to be talking about this, but I think that implementing more end-game for the higher level players should be addressed in the combat balance. I am going to post this in as many places as I can find because I want the Devs to see this. Players are expecting a lot from this combat balance, they are expecting it to "save" SWG and in order for it to do that there must be more to it than changing buffs, ham, specials or even dmg. In short there needs to be a type of force ranking system (FRS) for both normal professions on the ground and for pilots in JTL. Obviously it wouldn't be called a FRS it would be something else, but the groundwork for this is already in place as the PvP ranking. But what would this mean, other than bragging rights?
Once a player has mastered a profession, there would be further insentives to an end-game. The higher your pvp rating the more powerful your moves become, and you can then gain acess to new special attacks. The addition of "rank" in this maner would allow for players to feel they are achieving something and would encourage continued play.
Gaining these new abilities and sharpening excisting ones, much like Jedi Knights can in the FRS, would make PvP more interesting but also allows for the next part of my end-game idea. Provide epic quests to each realm of SWG including quests for the pilots in JTL, jedi in the FRS, and the rest of the players in the ranking system. These epic quests would require a relatively hight rank to even attempt and would provide an interesting method of providing content. I could go on and on but this is the heart of my idea. Allow players to continue to improve beyond simple profession mastery and tie that progression to content.
