Thread: Ship Equipment/Chassis Decay

Okay, so I realize now that your chassis does decay when you explode. I took out my calculator and found that my X-wing lost 13-15% chassis decay!! I was told at the time that my equipment doesn't decay, only armor. However, I glanced at my installed components and some of my equipment's hitpoints looked a little low. In particular, some of the quest reward equipment.

I asked and I get different answers from everyone!

Please only post confirmed responses to these question:

1) How much does your chassis decay upon death?

2) Does your Equipment decay as well, if so how much?

3) Does Ejecting instead of getting blown up Change the rate of decay?

4) If you're not forced to eject or blow up, does your equipment decay when you repair at space station (i.e. I /iffscramble and limp to closest space station)

5) Can equipment hitpoints be recovered, or is it like armor repair tools: you use a bulls*hit repair tool that usually does more harm than good.

I wouldn't really care about decay, some some of the quest items rewarded beat all crafted and looted equipment. For example, the Tier 3 Rebel exit quest gives you an engine with a top speed of 94.6, which is insanely better than anything I've looted, and I doubt once that engine decays my X-wing will be the same...

I understand RE can increase hitpoints, but you can only do that once, right?

Chassis decay a LOT, its bad. After a few deaths your having to pay another 600k+ for a new one, theMP ships especially need to not decay:/
