Hi fellow Pilots, im now Rebel Pilot (1/2/1/1) and now have up to level 5 Component certification. so im wondering does any ace pilot have any tips, guides, FAQ on ship components, and what is the best bits to get?
Currently flying a Y-wing.
Chasis < What does this do to the ships overall handling.
Energy < Obvious, power the ship computers.
Mass < What happens if we go over the mass" of the ships specification. Does it hinder over all flying, handling weapon recharge.
===========
Is there a list of all available equipment in the game for engines, generators, capacitors, shileds, and so on?
Cheers for info

You can't go over the ship's mass. It won't let ya install anymore past it.

Hint 1: Get Pilot 2.2.1.1 at least so you can have a ship that will handle more mass.
Hint 2: A good SW with good resources can make way way way better components than loot.
Violet Vette, Radiant
Master Smuggler, SW 2.3.2.2, Pilot 2.3.2.2, Medic (for those ejection wounds)
Playing slow this time and not grinding and loving it.

What componets (parts) to put in your ship will vary depending on your ship AND your playstyle. I dont think theres a hard rule about it.
First and formost, is your reactor. ALWAYS be looking for a new one. Large outputs on reactors past the 11,000 mark is semi rare. I have bunch of those i ferretted away, a 12K reactor, and found a vendor later on that sold 14K reactors. The reactor is the heart of your ship, and you want your bird to have a strong heart.
Engines, look for its maneuverablity ratings and top speed. Keep in mind your engine will be handicapped by your chassis.
Weapons, you want good vs shield and good vs hull.
I wish i could tell you what exactly you need to do, but its like, i micromange my ship. Tinker here, tinker there, etc. When im on the ground, im either in the manage screen, or looking for parts
Right now im flying an xwing, and strapping on a 3rd weapon put me about a little less than 200 units over my reactors max, and so far i havent noticed any adverse effects. I think its all about finding the right combination of equipment, and pushing the envelope a little here or there. Theres too many variables involed to give any sort of guide.

For all you tier 2 pilots out there. You can short cut the grinding process by finding ppl in tier 3 ships and offereing to help with missions. It's not hard to survive and if the tier 3 players just disable ships and lets you destroy the missions are easier and you both get xp,loot, and money. A win/win situation. I'm still trying to complete tier 3 and I have to do missions over and over again and I'm capped at 1 million xp. So intead of grinding away for an hour look for ppl around space station in tier 3 ships (Xwing, Tie Interceptor/Bomber) Should get you through the more annoying part of the game much more quickly.
As for tips, I'd say always go for pilot cert as your first skill in new tier. Almost all higher level ships are superior in everyway to lower ships. You're better off getting into the new ship and then getting higher component certs.
Three variables for ships:
Mass
Energy
Chassis
Mass is a limit to how much stuff you can put on your ship. The higher the more you can load into it. Bombers have unusally high mass but much slower turning and top speed.
Energy is decided by the reactor you use. It's another way to limit how much you can put on one ship. You be below mass but if your reactor can't handle everything then you are out of luck.
Chassis - Like condition, It goes down each time your ship is destroyed and eventually, you'll need a new ship. But they last a long time, I've been killed a lot and my chassis goes down about 7 points each time.
